Bonjour, Paris! Your Seine river bike tour begins on a boat in France’s capital. Your guides will welcome you on board for embarkation at 5 pm. Once you’ve settled into your cabin, the guides will brief you on the itinerary. At 9 pm, we’ll bid adieu to the Parisian skyline as the Viva (our state of the art river cruise ship) sets its course for the picturesque landscapes of Normandy.

After departing from Ile de France, you’ll wake up in Normandy and enjoy a scenic morning cruise along the Seine. In the afternoon, you’ll go on a guided tour of the medieval town of Rouen—the capital of Normandy. Marvel at its magnificent cathedral and visit the historic square “Du Vieux Marché,” where Joan of Arc met her tragic fate.
The ship will stay in Rouen overnight, so you’ll have an opportunity to wander and immerse yourself in the enchanting atmosphere of Rouen’s medieval streets. Don’t miss the mesmerizing light show at the cathedral during summer evenings (June 1st to September 15th), accompanied by music. It’s a short walk from the ship and promises an unforgettable experience.

After breakfast on board, we’ll hop on our e-bikes stationed near the jetty and navigate through quaint streets to explore the “Route of the Romanesque Monasteries.” We will cross two of the most beautiful river loops in the heart of Normandy, reach the majestic ruins of the Jumièges monastery and let you enjoy a picnic lunch prepared by the guides. We’ll return to Rouen along the Seine, followed by a brief transfer back to the ship in the afternoon. In the evening, the ship continues its journey towards the Atlantic.

Our morning starts in the stunning Côte d’Albatre (the Alabaster Coast), the jewel of the Norman coast. We’ll explore the charming seaside town of Étretat nestled amidst towering chalk cliffs. We’ll set out on an easy cliff path hike and let you marvel at the awe-inspiring landscapes that have inspired renowned artists like Boudin, Monet, and Manet.
After a relaxing break, we’ll cycle along picturesque streets, through quaint Norman villages, past white cattle farms, and small châteaux until you reach Tancarville. A transfer will then return us to the ship in Caudebec-en-Caux.

The ship will dock at Les Andelys early in the morning, offering stunning views of the Seine’s wide loops and towering limestone cliffs, dominated by the ruins of Richard the Lionheart’s castle. You’ll cycle along the river and ascend to the castle’s ruins, where your guide will explain its history. We’ll return to the ship before noon and set sail for Vernon.
In the afternoon, we’ll resume our e-bike tour at the old mill in Vernon, cycling upstream to Monet’s iconic water lily ponds and gardens in Giverny. After exploring Monet’s former residence and its lush gardens, we’ll continue along the Seine to the impressive La Roche Guyon castle as you learn its history and enjoy panoramic views of the river. The ship remains in Vernon overnight, so you’ll have time to enjoy it in the evening.

Oui, oui! On the penultimate day of our Seine river bike tour, we’ll cycle through one of the most beautiful cities in the world. We’ll start our e-bike journey from the ship into the enchanting, less-traveled Parisian streets to experience the city’s iconic landmarks from a unique perspective of a bike traveler, including the serene Canal St. Martin and the majestic Notre-Dame cathedral.
We’ll cycle via Pont Neuf to explore the Tuileries Gardens and delve into the world of Monet and other Impressionists at the Orangerie during a detailed guided tour. Following lunch overlooking the Place de la Concorde and the Champs Elysées, we’ll continue biking along the Seine to the Eiffel Tower past the golden statues of the Pont Alexandre III before discovering the artistic wonders of the Rodin Museum. Admire the famous sculptor’s masterpieces like “The Kiss” and “The Thinker” before cycling back to the ship for a delightful final dinner onboard.

Au revoir, Paris! Following your final breakfast onboard, it’s time to disembark in Paris. After bidding farewell to your guides and the rest of the group, you can either extend your stay in the city or head home.

Some waterways may be temporarily closed due to factors such as droughts, storms, floods, canal or lock repairs, or other unforeseen circumstances that make navigation unsafe or impossible. The captain reserves the right to make any necessary adjustments. In exceptional circumstances such as high or low tides or unforeseen events, certain parts of the route may require alternate transportation by bus or train. In some cases, hotel accommodation may be necessary.

This Seine River bike tour is geared towards beginners, as you’ll be using electric bikes that can assist you significantly in case you have a lower level of fitness. On premium pedelecs equipped with Bosch or Shimano mid-mounted motors, riders have full control over assistance levels, allowing for a personalized difficulty rating based on individual fitness levels and preferences. It is entirely up to you what difficulty level you choose and whether you want to challenge yourself or simply enjoy the sights.
You’ll cover a total distance of 189 kilometers / 118 miles by e-bike and on foot. The bike routes mostly follow cycle paths with minimal traffic, and comfortable running shoes with a good grip are recommended for the coastal hike.

Weather in Central France and Normandy can be unpredictable. Days are typically warm, but evenings can be noticeably cooler. Don’t forget to pack swimwear along with clothing for dinner and cycling clothes.
The boat

Cabins
The ship boasts 99 spacious elegant cabins. There are three categories of cabins, and you can choose the one you prefer. All three cabin types are equally equipped and they have the same layout: they feature modern furnishings and amenities including air conditioning, safe, TV, fly screen, hairdryer, toilet, sauna towel, wool blanket, telephone, and bathrobe on request. The difference among cabins is the deck and the windows.
The adventure price is based on double occupancy. For a private cabin, contact us before booking. The exact price varies by availability and season. Note that adding a single supplement to your booking will be MANDATORY if you’re joining as a solo traveller.
On your Seine River bike tour all meals are included from the moment you arrive on board until you disembark, that is, from dinner on the first day to breakfast on the last day. The culinary experience aboard includes varied buffets showcasing regional specialties and live cooking every day, complemented by afternoon cake buffets with coffee and tea. You can enjoy mineral water with main meals, specialty evenings, and flexible meal times and free choice of table in the market restaurant, day lounge, and outdoor restaurant.
The restaurant provides buffet-style meals with live cooking throughout the day and multi-course dinners. Lunch is served either as a picnic prepared by your guides or as an onboard buffet, depending on your itinerary. Plus, all drinks are included, except for champagne, bottled wine, and exclusive rarities.
Wine menu is tailored to the region and the Wine & Dine arrangement which includes an exclusive 5-course dinner with corresponding wines can be booked on board. If weather permits, there will be a BBQ buffet on the aft deck.
Special dietary needs like vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free are easily accommodated, so if you have any, just let us know upon booking.
For your Seine River bike tour, your guides will provide e-bikes. The rental e-bikes have an aluminium frame and Bosch motors. Clients also get additional gear such as bike locks. Standard bikes are also available for rental.
It is not mandatory, but if you want, you can rent a helmet for 10 EUR at the checkout.

To get to the Seine River, most people fly into Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG), 30 minutes from Paris. From there, you can rent a car or take a train, i.e., a shuttle service.
Please book your flight to arrive at Paris airport no later than 3 pm to avoid the risk of arriving too late at the meeting point on board the ship at 5 pm. Otherwise, you might be unable to take part in the panorama tour.
We highly recommend that you cover all your bases with both emergency medical and travel insurance.
With medical insurance, if you have an accident or medical emergency on or off the mountain, you’ll avoid paying out of pocket for costly expenses. This covers everything from hospital treatments to emergency air transportation and more. Travel insurance covers canceled flights, natural disasters and other scenarios that may interrupt your travel plans.
We also expect you to respect local regulations and take measures to protect yourselves, your guides, and the communities you’re traveling to.
