Cancellation policy

The percentages in the table above are of the full trip price, not of what you’ve paid at the time of booking.

Cancellations made within 48 hours of booking receive a full refund on all plans, including booking fees and insurance. After the 48-hour window, your refund depends on your selected protection plan and when you cancel. Core and Premium plans extend your cancellation rights beyond the Standard policy:

  • With Core, a covered reason gets you 75% of your trip cost back — even the day before you go.
  • With Premium, a covered reason gets you 100% of your trip cost back — and any other reason gets you 75%, right up to the day you leave.
What counts as a covered reason
  • Sudden illness or injury — yours, a travel companion’s, or an immediate family member’s, confirmed by a doctor
  • Death of a traveler or an immediate family member
  • A natural disaster affecting your destination or your departure point
  • A government travel advisory against travel to your destination

Changing your mind isn’t a covered reason. Premium is the only plan that covers that. Documentation is required for all insurance claims.

Everything the travel insurance covers

Both plans include travel insurance through Redpoint Travel Protection. Core insures 75% of your trip cost; Premium insures 100%.

Maximum per person:

  • Trip cancellation — up to 100% of your trip cost
  • Cancel for any reason — up to 75% of your trip cost (Premium only)
  • Trip interruption — 150% of the trip cost limit
  • Trip delay — $200 a day, $1,000 max
  • Itinerary change — $250
  • Single occupancy supplement — up to 100% of trip cost
  • Missed connection — $1,000
  • Travel inconvenience — $250 each, $750 max
  • Pet return — $1,000 per pet
  • Baggage and personal effects — $2,500, max $300 an item
  • Baggage delay — $600, after 12 hours
  • Baggage delivery — $100 per trip
  • Emergency medical expenses — $100,000
  • Medical evacuation and repatriation — up to $1,000,000

These are maximums. What a claim actually pays depends on what you can document and on the policy’s exclusions — pre-existing conditions and undeclared activities among them. We’ll send the full policy wording with your confirmation.

  • This guided eight-day e-bike adventure loops from Davos Klosters through Switzerland, Austria, and Italy, crossing borders five times on quiet gravel roads, forest tracks, and easy singletrack. Along the way, we ride the ancient Via Claudia Augusta, visit UNESCO sites like the Convent of St. John and the Bernina Railway, and roll through Romansh, Tyrolean, and Italian villages, each with its own language, food, and traditions. Trains and PostBuses link the most scenic stretches, and luggage transfers and daily laundry let you focus on the ride. Each night, we stay in handpicked 3 and 4-star alpine hotels.

    • We meet in Davos or Klosters, get fitted on our e-bikes, and ease into the week with a ride through lush forests and open alpine meadows to Monstein, a classic Walser mountain village. Quiet roads, shady forest tracks, and smooth natural trails with a few loose or steeper bits give us the perfect chance to dial in our bikes and pick up riding tips. After topping out near Dürrboden, we drop into the dramatic Zügen Gorge and roll past the Wiesen Viaduct to Filisur. From there, the train carries us through tunnels and over bridges back to our hotel in Davos Klosters.

Riding: 30–40 km (19–25 mi), 6 hours including train travel and breaks
      Elevation gain/loss: +1,300 m (4,265 ft), -1,300 m (4,265 ft)
Technical difficulty & trail type: Easy to moderate, natural alpine trails, forest roads, and quiet mountain roads with some loose and steeper sections
      Highest point: Dürrboden, 2,004 m (6,575 ft)
      Accommodation: 3 or 4-star hotel

Day 1: Zügen Gorge and the UNESCO Albula Railway — Mountain Biking in Switzerland, Austria, and Italy
    • A scenic train ride takes us to Lavin, where we start pedaling toward Guarda, a village famous for its decorated Engadine houses and deep Romansh roots. Today is all about relaxed exploration on easy gravel, forest lanes, and peaceful paths with no singletrack at all, stopping in classic villages like Ardez along the way. We top out at Ftan, pass the dramatic Tarasp Castle perched above the valley, and roll into Scuol, a lively alpine town known for its historic mineral and thermal baths. It’s the perfect place to soak tired legs before dinner.

Riding: 30–35 km (19–22 mi), 6 hours including train travel and breaks
      Elevation gain/loss: +1,100 m (3,609 ft), -1,300 m (4,265 ft)
Technical difficulty & trail type: Easy, gravel roads, forest roads, and easy paths with no singletrack
      Highest point: Ftan, 1,688 m (5,538 ft)
      Accommodation: 3 or 4-star hotel

Ride from Davos Klosters into the Alps — Mountain Biking in Switzerland, Austria, and Italy
    • We leave the Romansh-speaking Lower Engadine behind and follow quiet alpine roads, gravel trails, and a few short singletrack sections toward the Austrian border. Before crossing, we stop at a cozy restaurant in a 400-year-old house for a slice of homemade Engadine walnut tart, a true local tradition. After a steady climb to Ober Schrofen, our high point for the day, we pedal over the border into Tyrol, where the villages, dialects, and even the currency change. We finish in Nauders, ready for a well-earned rest and a hearty dinner.

Riding: 40–50 km (25–31 mi), 6 hours including breaks
      Elevation gain/loss: +1,400 m (4,593 ft), -1,400 m (4,593 ft)
Technical difficulty & trail type: Easy, gravel roads, forest roads, and easy paths with a few short singletrack sections
Highest point: Ober Schrofen, 1,544 m (5,066 ft)
      Accommodation: 3 or 4-star hotel

Cross into Austria — Mountain Biking in Switzerland, Austria, and Italy
    • Today we follow the Via Claudia Augusta, an ancient Roman road, over Reschen Pass and into Italy’s Vinschgau Valley. At Lake Reschen, we’ll see Old Graun’s famous church tower rising from the water, the last trace of a village flooded to create the reservoir. Then we ride through apple orchards, pass Lichtenberg Castle, and explore Glurns, a medieval town still enclosed by walls and three gate towers. Crossing back into Switzerland, we visit the UNESCO-listed Convent of St. John in Müstair, known for its 1,200-year history and early medieval wall paintings.

Riding: 50 km (31 mi), 6 hours including breaks
      Elevation gain/loss: +1,200 m (3,937 ft), -1,500 m (4,921 ft)
Technical difficulty & trail type: Easy, gravel roads, forest roads, bike paths, and easy natural trails
Highest point: Near Reschen Pass, 1,513 m (4,964 ft)
      Accommodation: 3 or 4-star hotel

Explore Alpine Austria — Mountain Biking in Switzerland, Austria, and Italy
    • A classic Swiss PostBus ride takes us deeper into the valleys of Graubünden. Then we hop on the bikes and skirt the edge of the Swiss National Park through the UNESCO Biosfera Val Müstair. Our route follows Val Mora, with wild streams, open valleys, and waterfalls at every turn. It’s the biggest climb of the trip, but the e-bikes make it very doable, mostly on comfortable gravel and forest roads mixed with mellow singletrack. Topping out at Passo di Val Trela, we cross into Italy and roll down to Livigno, where a cozy hotel and hearty Italian alpine food are waiting.

Riding: 40–50 km (25–31 mi), 6 hours including breaks
      Elevation gain/loss: +1,500 m (4,921 ft), -1,200 m (3,937 ft)
Technical difficulty & trail type: Easy to moderate, gravel tracks, forest roads, and S0–S1 singletrack
Highest point: Passo di Val Trela, 2,295 m (7,530 ft)
      Accommodation: 3 or 4-star hotel

Through the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve from Switzerland to Italy — Mountain Biking in Switzerland, Austria, and Italy
    • From Livigno, easy trails and mountain tracks lead us up to Forcola di Livigno, the day’s highest point, where we cross back into Switzerland for our fifth and final border crossing. Entering the Upper Engadine, we ride gravel tracks, forest roads, and gently rolling singletrack past mountain lakes and broad valleys, with views of Piz Bernina (4,049 m/13,284 ft), the only peak above 4,000 m in the Eastern Alps. We ride near the UNESCO-listed Bernina Railway before reaching Morteratsch, where glaciers and high peaks show off the full scale of the Bernina range.

Riding: 50 km (31 mi), 6 hours including breaks
      Elevation gain/loss: +1,300 m (4,265 ft), -1,300 m (4,265 ft)
Technical difficulty & trail type: Moderate, gravel tracks, forest roads, and S0–S1 singletrack
Highest point: Forcola di Livigno, 2,315 m (7,595 ft)
      Accommodation: 3 or 4-star hotel

The Final Border Crossing and the Bernina Alps — Mountain Biking in Switzerland, Austria, and Italy
    • Our final riding day starts in St. Moritz, the iconic heart of alpine sport and style. From here, we explore the sunny Upper Engadine, cruising along the quiet shores of Lake Silvaplana and Lake Sils and through laid-back Romansh villages like Sils Maria, where Friedrich Nietzsche spent his summers. Classic gravel tracks, forest roads, and easy singletrack lead us up to Ca d’Starnam, our high point, before an easy descent. Then we hop on the train back to Davos Klosters and celebrate a week well ridden.

Riding: 50 km (31 mi), 6 hours including breaks and train travel
      Elevation gain/loss: +1,300 m (4,265 ft), -1,300 m (4,265 ft)
Technical difficulty & trail type: Easy to moderate, gravel tracks, forest roads, and S0–S1 singletrack, comparable to green and easy blue trails in the US and Canada
      Highest point: Ca d’Starnam, 2,024 m (6,640 ft)
      Accommodation: 3 or 4-star hotel

Upper Engadine Finale with St. Moritz — Mountain Biking in Switzerland, Austria, and Italy
    • After one last breakfast together in Davos Klosters, it’s time to head home with tired legs and plenty of stories. Over the past week, we’ve looped through Prättigau, the Engadine, Tyrol, Vinschgau, Val Müstair, Livigno, and the Bernina range, crossing borders, switching languages, and riding past glaciers, lakes, and villages that feel like they’ve stood forever. Safe travels, and thanks for sharing the ride with us!

    • To join this Alps e-bike tour, you need good overall fitness and some experience riding gravel roads, forest roads, and easy mountain bike trails. The most you’ll ride in a day is 50 km (31 mi), with as much as 1,500 m (4,921 ft) of elevation gain, but keep in mind that you’ll be riding with e-bikes which makes it significantly easier.

Most of the riding happens on gravel and forest roads, with some green to easy blue singletrack sections (S0–S1 on the European Singletrail Scale), especially on Days 5 to 7. The e-bike makes the climbs much easier, but you’ll still need good endurance, confidence on loose surfaces and small rocks, and the ability to handle several days in a row in the saddle, with up to six hours of activity each day.

Discover more bike adventures in the Alps here!

    • This tour is for curious, active riders who want to experience the Alps at a relaxed, rewarding pace, soaking up the scenery, villages, and culture rather than chasing speed or technical challenges. Expect quiet gravel and forest roads, smooth paths, and easy S0–S1 singletrack, comparable to green and easier blue trails in the US and Canada. Frequent stops leave time for photos, local food, and sights like medieval castles, traditional Engadine and Walser houses, and UNESCO World Heritage sites.

You’ll have the most fun if you have some previous mountain biking or e-MTB experience and feel confident braking, cornering, and handling varied surfaces. This isn’t an enduro or technical trail tour, and it’s less suitable for complete beginners or riders looking for fast, steep terrain. If you value the journey as much as the ride, you’ll feel right at home.

    • If a stage proves too difficult to complete safely, or you’d simply rather not ride it, you can skip it and rejoin the group at the next hotel.

        • If your guide determines you’re unable to safely complete a stage, you may be required to skip it—the guide’s decision is final.
        • You’re also welcome to skip one by choice, whether because of weather, fatigue, or just needing a break.
        • Either way, you can take a taxi with your e-bike to the next hotel at your own expense — your guides are happy to help arrange it.
        • Traveling with the luggage transfer vehicle isn’t possible due to insurance and safety restrictions.

Let your guides know as early as possible so they can help arrange logistics and make sure you rejoin the group smoothly.

    • Gear:

        • Certified mountain bike helmet — required
        • Biking shoes — compatible with your pedals
        • Daypack (minimum 20 L) with rain cover
        • Knee pads
        • Elbow pads (optional, but recommended for added protection)
        • Biking gloves
        • Sunglasses
        • Hydration system (2 L recommended—water bottle or CamelBak)

      Clothing:

        • Bike shorts — at least 2 pairs
        • Short- and long-sleeve bike jerseys
        • Thermal underwear (long sleeve, for chilly mornings)
        • Socks — bring several pairs
        • Rain jacket and rain pants — mandatory weather protection
        • Waterproof gloves (especially for cold or wet rides)
        • Neoprene socks or overshoes — for warmth in wet weather
        • Warm jacket for evenings (down or synthetic works well)
        • Hat and gloves (for cooler nights or high passes)
        • Neck warmer/buff
        • Swimwear (some hotels have pools or wellness areas)

      Other essentials:

        • Sunscreen (high SPF)
        • Toiletries
        • Personal medication
        • Some cash in both CHF (Swiss francs) and EUR (Euros)
        • Camera (optional, but highly recommended)

      For each ride:

        • Trail snacks (some provided, but bring any personal favorites)
        • Water—bring enough for the day and refill during stops
        • Energy bars and nuts
        • Wind and rain jacket (always pack these, even in good weather)

Dress for active riding and shifting mountain weather. Layers work best—avoid jeans, and go for athletic clothing that moves with you and dries quickly. Temperatures in the Alps can vary widely, so prepare for warm sun, chilly wind, and sudden rain, even in summer.

All hotels on this tour offer a daily laundry service—it’s included in the price. With fresh kit waiting for you every morning, there’s no need to pack a ton of gear or worry about handwashing in the sink at the end of a long day.

Got everything you need? Grab your gear through Active Junky and earn cash back on top outdoor brands — plus a $10 bonus on your first $25+ purchase. Shop now at Active Junky!

    • Luggage allowance:

        • Luggage transfers are included for one bag per person weighing up to 15 kg (33 lb) for the duration of the tour.
        • If you would like to bring a second bag, your guides recommend arranging this in advance—a second bag can be transported for an additional fee (details and pricing are provided at checkout or on request).

Your main bag will be transferred between hotels every day. Any extra luggage you don’t need during the tour can be stored securely at the hotel in Davos Klosters and picked up when you return at the end of the trip. If you have special storage requests, let your guides know when booking.

    • To keep your trip completely hassle-free, you can simply add rental bikes to your booking during checkout. Bike rentals typically include high-end e-mountain bikes—such as Trek, Mondraker, Bixs, and Bergstrom—offering strong battery range and reliable performance for long days in the Alps. Each bike is well maintained, fully equipped, and ready to handle anything from rugged mountain trails to easier valley rides.

Your guide is trained in first aid and handles minor bike repairs during the tour. Larger repairs are done in the evenings, and if a bike can’t be fixed quickly, a replacement will be arranged so you can keep riding.

If damage is caused by a crash or improper handling, the repair costs are charged to the renter. If there is a technical fault or issue that’s not your fault, all repair and replacement costs are covered by the guides.

If you have specific preferences, sizing questions, or want a particular model, just leave us a note at checkout—your guides are happy to help you get set up with the best e-MTB for your adventure.

Your guides recommend flat pedals for this trip. They make it easier to put a foot down quickly on technical or loose terrain and to walk the bike through hike-a-bike sections, which you’ll likely hit in the high Alps. Since the e-bike motor handles most of the climbing, the usual efficiency edge of clipless pedals matters less here. If you’re already comfortable with clipless pedals on rocky, high-altitude singletrack, you’re welcome to bring them—but for most riders, flat pedals are the better choice for this style of riding.

    • This e-bike tour runs from early June to mid-October.

      What to expect by month:

        • June through August — wildflowers in full bloom and the longest days, though afternoon storms and quick weather changes are common at altitude
        • September and early October — autumn colors and a quieter feel on the trails after the main holiday season

Alpine weather can change fast, even in summer. Expect chilly mornings, sudden rain, and even patches of snow on passes near 2,300 m (7,546 ft). Valley temperatures typically range from 10°C (50°F) to 20°C (68°F), but up high it can go from bright sun to cold wind in minutes. Bring warm layers, rain gear you trust, full-finger gloves, and a buff, and you’ll be comfortable whatever the weather brings.

        • Solo travelers are welcome—they can either share a room with another same-gender solo traveler at no extra cost, or guarantee a private room by paying a single occupancy fee. • Experienced riders between 18 and 24 may be considered after prior consultation—eligibility depends on legal regulation, technical riding ability, and a good match in terms of expectations and overall group experience.

If your group includes riders under the age of 25, contact us prior to booking to discuss options.

    • The price for this Alps e-bike tour is based on twin-share rooms, but a single occupancy room can be arranged at an additional fee. You can add it to your booking at checkout.

You’ll meet your guide on Day 1 at Klosters Platz or Davos Platz railway station, and the exact meeting point will be confirmed before the tour. The tour also ends in Davos Klosters, so no extra transfers are needed at the end.

    • We highly recommend that you cover all your bases with insurance. To make your booking and traveling experience as carefree as possible, you’ll be offered to simply insure your trip with Redpoint at checkout.

Redpoint—the official 57hours insurance partner—tailors protection packages for adventure travel, offering a comprehensive travel program, even in remote locations!
