Hermosa Tours
  • More time, more opportunities! Spend the day conquering classic Colorado trails such as the Hermosa Creek Trail and the Telegraph Trail under the watchful eye of an experienced local guide. After a thorough assessment of your skill level, you will be ready to set off and explore the endless riding opportunities that Durango has to offer. Anything goes on Durango’s thrilling tracks.

    • 57hours is committed to providing safe outdoor adventure experiences. We require all guides using our platform to have a COVID-19 safety plan and to make the details of that plan accessible to travelers. In most cases, group sizes will be reduced, guides will avoid overcrowded locations, and other safety measures will be met depending on the location and activity.

We also expect clients to respect local regulations and take measures to protect themselves, guides and the communities they’re travelling to. For more information on COVID-19 measures in Colorado please refer to the Official Colorado Covid 19 Updates website.

Please contact us if you have any questions or require further information. We are happy to provide you with the most up-to-date information!

    • What you get on this adventure:

      • An experienced MTB guide with extensive local knowledge of the area
      • A half or full day of mountain biking
      • Helmet and hydration pack
      • Transportation from and to the trailhead

Mountain bike rentals are available for an added fee of $40.00 for the Basic Hardtail model, and $89.00 for the Full Suspension model.

      What’s not included:

      • Transportation to Durango
      • Accommodations
      • Food and snacks
      • Permits
    • You will need to be able to bike at least two hours, depending on the itinerary you choose. After booking, your guide will determine the group’s skill level and capabilities and cater the day to your specific abilities. Keep in mind, opting for the full day option means more biking, which is strenuous even if you stay on beginner level trails.

    • As long as you pedal on two wheels, you can book this adventure. A guide will explain the different mountain bike techniques and body positions to get you feeling comfortable on the trail. You will progress at a level that is consistent with your comfort. Once you finally get the hang of trail riding, you will only want more!

    • Here’s what you’ll need to bring:

      • Wear comfortable riding or athletic clothing, preferably moisture wicking or synthetic material
      • Sneakers or sport shoes
      • Breathable outside layer or jacket
      • Sunglasses
      • Plenty of water, water bottle or hydration bladder
      • Daypack with snacks
      • Biking gloves are optional but recommended
      • Toiletries (sunscreen, hand sanitizer, bug spray, toilet paper, etc.)

Dress comfortably and for the weather in clothes you can move in. We suggest bringing clothing appropriate for the season. Layers are best and don’t wear jeans.

    • Group sizes and prices:

      • The group size for these private tours are usually between 1–6 people with one guide.
      • Costs per person decrease as the group grows, so it’s the perfect opportunity to ride with friends and family.

Mountain biking in Durango can be arranged for bigger groups. Contact us prior to booking.

      Min. age requirements:

      • If you are older than 18, you’re good to go.
      • Children as young as 10 are able to go on trips with a legal guardian. That said, if you have a young rider strong enough to handle sustained climbs (either riding or walking their bike) of hundreds of feet, and rough terrain, then they may be able to participate on a case-by-case basis.

If your group has riders under the age of 18, contact us prior to booking to make arrangements.

    • To get to Durango, most people fly into the Albuquerque International Sunport. From there, you can rent a car or take a shuttle service to make the approximately 3.5 hour drive to Durango.

Once there, you can meet your guide at the scheduled time in the 2nd Ave Sports store in Durango. Alternatively, if you’re staying in Durango and you don’t have transportation, you contact your guide and arrange for them to pick you up at your hotel.
