  • There's a reason road cyclists keep coming back to South Tyrol in Italy. The passes are iconic, the roads are immaculate, and the scenery shifts so dramatically from one valley to the next that no two days feel the same. We start gently along the vineyard-draped hills around Bolzano before the Dolomites take over: Lago di Carezza, the Sellaronda across four legendary passes, and the final push past Tre Cime di Lavaredo to historic Bressanone. A local guide leads every stage, a support vehicle is always within reach, luggage moves between hotels without us lifting a finger, and every evening ends in a 4-star hotel.

    • Today, you’ll arrive in Bolzano (240 m / 787 ft), the trilingual capital of South Tyrol tucked between vineyards and the first foothills of the Dolomites. After checking into the hotel, the evening is ours to explore the city’s medieval arcades and Piazza Walther before a welcome dinner at the hotel restaurant.

      Meals: Dinner
      Accommodation: 4-star hotel in Bolzano

    • Today we saddle up for a ride along the Alto Adige Wine Route, pedalling past apple orchards and vine-covered slopes that produce Gewurztraminer, Lagrein, and Pinot Blanc. The route winds through charming wine villages at gentle gradients, with stops for tastings along the way. It’s an ideal warm-up for the bigger days ahead.

      Meals: Breakfast

    • Today’s ride is the big one on the southern leg. We climb from Bolzano to the fabled Lago di Carezza (1,520 m / 4,986 ft), whose deep green waters mirror the jagged peaks of the Rosengarten and Latemar ranges. From there we continue up the Carezza Pass beneath the Rosengarten Massif (3,002 m / 9,849 ft), then push on through the villages of Siusi (1,000 m / 3,281 ft) at the foot of the Sciliar to our hotel on the Alpe di Siusi.

      Meals: Breakfast, dinner
Accommodation: 4-star hotel in Alpe di Siusi
Cycling: 72.4 km (45 mi), approx. 5-6 hrs
      Elevation: +2,213 m (+7,258 ft) / -1,472 m (-4,828 ft)

    • The classic Dolomites road cycling circuit. We catch a lift with the support vehicle to Passo Gardena (2,137 m / 7,011 ft) and set off clockwise around the Sella Massif. Four major passes make up the loop: Passo Gardena, the legendary Passo Pordoi (2,242 m / 7,356 ft) with its 33 hairpin turns and its place in Giro d’Italia history, Passo Sella (2,240 m / 7,349 ft), and back to Passo Gardena before descending to Alta Badia (1,600 m / 5,250 ft) for the night. Please note that the road is reserved exclusively for cyclists from 9am to 3pm.

      Meals: Breakfast, dinner

    • Today’s route heads north and east into the most dramatic scenery of the trip. We climb over two mountain passes toward Cortina d’Ampezzo, then continue to Lago Misurina (1,754 m / 5,755 ft) for a close-up view of Tre Cime di Lavaredo, the three iconic rock pillars that are arguably the most photographed formation in all the Dolomites. The ride continues into Val Pusteria, finishing in Dobbiaco (1,254 m / 4,114 ft), often called the gateway to the Dolomites.

      Meals: Breakfast, dinner
      Accommodation: 4-star hotel in Dobbiaco
Cycling: 71.5 km (44 mi), approx. 5 hrs
      Elevation: +1,580 m (+5,182 ft) / -1,863 m (-6,110 ft)

    • The final ride takes us from Dobbiaco down through Val Pusteria to Bressanone (560 m / 1,837 ft), the oldest city in South Tyrol and the region’s artistic and cultural capital. More than 1,000 years of history line its streets, from its Baroque bishop’s palace to a lively cathedral square. We ride in, drop the bikes, and transfer back to Bolzano for a final evening in the region.

      Meals: Breakfast
      Accommodation: 4-star hotel in Bolzano
Cycling: 70 km (43 mi), approx. 4 hrs
