Our splitboarding and skiing adventure can begin! Each day, after breakfast, we’ll transfer to the starting point, which will take us from 20 to 40 minutes. Then, it’s time to throw on the skins and start our climb. Ascents can last from 2-4 hours, depending on the day’s objective. Once at the top of our line, all that’s left is laying down fresh tracks with no one but you and your crew in sight!. The vertical drop ranges from 700 m to 2,000 m (2,297 ft to 6,562 ft). The terrain can vary from mellow slopes to open vertical steep terrain. Later on, we’re going back to Bansko for dinner and a good night’s sleep in our accommodation.

This Pirin mountains skiing tour is rated moderate. Good fitness level is expected and required. You must be able to walk uphill for 3-4 hours using ski touring equipment.

Here’s a list of the equipment you need to bring:

- Day pack large enough to carry all the items listed (around a 25-40L bag)
- Splitboard or touring skis + poles
- Avalanche equipment (transceiver, shovel, probe)
- Appropriate ski clothing (Gore-Tex jacket & pants, down jacket, fleece, thermal underwear)
- Ski helmet
- Water bottle or hydration bladder (2L capacity)
- Sunhat
- Toiletries (sunscreen, hand sanitizer, bug spray, toilet paper, etc.)
- Sunglasses
- Camera — optional (but recommended)
Dress comfortably and for the weather in clothes you can move in. We suggest bringing clothing appropriate for the season. Layers are best and don’t wear jeans.

Group sizes and pricing

- For the open group Pirin mountains skiing tour (with fixed dates), the usual client-to-guide ratio is 6:1.
- It takes a minimum of 4 people for the open group adventure (with fixed dates) to operate. The maximum group size is set at 12 participants.
- It’s also possible to arrange a private adventure with your people! For private tours, the maximum group size is set at 6 participants
- For the private group tours, the cost per person decreases as the group grows, so it’s the perfect opportunity to ski with friends and family!
Backcountry skiing in Bulgaria can be arranged for larger groups. Contact us to make arrangements.
Min. age requirements

- If you are older than 18, you’re good to go.
- Minors younger than 18 may be permitted to join the Pirin mountains skiing tour on a case-by-case basis, but must be in the presence of a parent or legal guardian.

The starting point of your Pirin mountains skiing tour is Bansko. To get there, most people fly into Sofia (SOF) Airport. From there, you will be transported to Bansko, as the price includes transportation to and from the Sofia Airport.
Once you’re there, you will meet your guide at a predetermined time in a predetermined location, most likely your hotel. Your guides will provide more information before the start of the trip.
