Cancellation policy

The percentages in the table above are of the full trip price, not of what you’ve paid at the time of booking.

Cancellations made within 48 hours of booking receive a full refund on all plans, including booking fees and insurance. After the 48-hour window, your refund depends on your selected protection plan and when you cancel. Core and Premium plans extend your cancellation rights beyond the Standard policy:

  • With Core, a covered reason gets you 75% of your trip cost back — even the day before you go.
  • With Premium, a covered reason gets you 100% of your trip cost back — and any other reason gets you 75%, right up to the day you leave.
What counts as a covered reason
  • Sudden illness or injury — yours, a travel companion’s, or an immediate family member’s, confirmed by a doctor
  • Death of a traveler or an immediate family member
  • A natural disaster affecting your destination or your departure point
  • A government travel advisory against travel to your destination

Changing your mind isn’t a covered reason. Premium is the only plan that covers that. Documentation is required for all insurance claims.

Everything the travel insurance covers

Both plans include travel insurance through Redpoint Travel Protection. Core insures 75% of your trip cost; Premium insures 100%.

Maximum per person:

  • Trip cancellation — up to 100% of your trip cost
  • Cancel for any reason — up to 75% of your trip cost (Premium only)
  • Trip interruption — 150% of the trip cost limit
  • Trip delay — $200 a day, $1,000 max
  • Itinerary change — $250
  • Single occupancy supplement — up to 100% of trip cost
  • Missed connection — $1,000
  • Travel inconvenience — $250 each, $750 max
  • Pet return — $1,000 per pet
  • Baggage and personal effects — $2,500, max $300 an item
  • Baggage delay — $600, after 12 hours
  • Baggage delivery — $100 per trip
  • Emergency medical expenses — $100,000
  • Medical evacuation and repatriation — up to $1,000,000

These are maximums. What a claim actually pays depends on what you can document and on the policy’s exclusions — pre-existing conditions and undeclared activities among them. We’ll send the full policy wording with your confirmation.

  • Journey through New Mexico's rich tapestry of ancient civilizations and dramatic landscapes on this 8-day women's hiking adventure. From Albuquerque to Santa Fe, we'll explore Petroglyph National Monument's ancient rock art, El Malpais' volcanic terrain, Chaco Canyon's astronomical wonders, Ghost Ranch's painted desert, Bandelier's cliff dwellings, and more. With cozy accommodations, nearly all meals, and entrance fees taken care of, we’ll fully experience the magic of New Mexico.

    • Our adventure begins at 1 pm in Albuquerque, where we’ll meet the group and guides at the hotel. In the afternoon, we’ll hike the Mesa Point Trail in Petroglyph National Monument, passing lots of petroglyphs from different ages before reaching a scenic 360-degree view of Albuquerque, the Sandia mountains, the Sangre de Cristos, and extinct volcanoes. We’ll enjoy a picnic dinner and watch the sunset over Albuquerque.

    • After breakfast, we’ll head out for kayaking on the Rio Grande—the very reason Albuquerque exists where it does. We’ll put in among beautiful cottonwoods in Algodones and paddle approximately 8 miles of secluded valley, through the stretch where the Coronado expedition wintered in 1540. The river is wide and gentle here. Afterward, we’ll visit El Malpais National Monument to explore a very different kind of “flow”—an ancient lava field, with one section just 3,000 years old.

    • We’ll get an early start for a full day at Chaco Canyon, the center of Ancient Puebloan culture. We’ll visit ruins and see evidence of a very advanced civilization in Puebloan building techniques, irrigation systems, and astronomical observations. The isolation and vastness of the area contribute to its sense of mystery and majesty. In the afternoon, we’ll drive to Ghost Ranch Retreat Center, stopping for dinner en route.

      Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner
      Hiking: 1.5-2 miles (2.4-3.2 km)

The guides will lead optional hikes, including a short but steep climb to the panoramic views of the Chimney Rock Trail. You may also explore historic tours, museums, or trail rides. We’ll gather for meals and a campfire in the evening.

We start with a hike on the Tsankawi Loop trail, passing unexcavated Ancestral Pueblo ruins and cliff dwellings. Then, we’ll explore Frijoles Canyon’s ruins and stop by the Visitor Center.

After exploring the trails and ruins of Bandelier, we’ll head to Santa Fe for a walking tour of the city and its historic sites.

      Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner
      Hiking: 1.5 miles (2.4 km), 3 hours

Before lunch, we’ll head to our rafting put-in spot for a picnic along the Rio Grande River. Then, we’ll get ready for fun whitewater rafting on a section of the Rio Grande called ”the Racecourse”. Once we’re back in Santa Fe, dinner is on your own to explore the city’s culinary options.

Once we return to town, the rest of the afternoon is free to explore Santa Fe’s museums, galleries, or visit the Ten Thousand Waves Japanese-style spa (coordinate with your guides). If you’d rather stay in town, you can wander the galleries of Canyon Road or visit the Museum of International Folk Art, or Georgia O’ Keeffe Museum. We’ll gather for a final dinner and enjoy New Mexican cuisine at a nearby restaurant.
