We meet our pilot and trip manager at the heli-pad in Whistler, Sechelt, Campbell River, or Powell River for the flight up to base camp. With three days of riding ahead and a well-vetted group, we start with a bang: our guide and camp manager meet us at the summit of the northeastern ridgeline, home to over 10km of steep granite terrain and its own natural heli pad. From there, we descend steep, technical slabs down to a sub-alpine bench of shaded trees, then follow a lower rock traverse below the ridge to a final climbing line and our first views of camp. This ascent tests even fresh legs, often tackled with pedal assist or on foot, but the views make it worth it. We finish with a dip in glacial water, a sauna, and a three-course fireside meal.
