  • Important note: This is the all-women Colorado adventure without lodging/accommodation

This is the same 4-day guided adventure, covering rafting on the Upper Colorado River, beginner rock climbing, mountain biking through Summit County, and a guided summit ascent. This option is for participants arranging their own accommodation. All guides, technical gear, daily transport from The Block, and all lunches are still included. Since The Block in Silverthorne is the transport hub for Days 2-4, staying nearby is strongly recommended.

    • We kick off the retreat with an afternoon raft down the Upper Colorado River from the Rancho del Rio boathouse. The water is Class I-II, so there’s nothing to worry about on the technical side and plenty of attention left for the canyon walls, aspens, and cottonwoods showing their fall color. Wildlife is easier to spot this time of year as the river traffic quiets down. It’s a scenic, easy start and the right way to ease into the week.

      Meals: Snacks

      Rafting on a Colorado river
    • A full day at a local crag selected by our guides for the best conditions on the day. Before we rope up, we cover all the fundamentals: knot tying, harness setup, movement on rock, and partner communication. All technical gear is included and there’s nothing to rent or bring. The day runs about eight hours, and by the end most people are surprised by how natural it starts to feel.

      Meals: Lunch, snacks

      Rockies climbing in Colorado
    • We meet at the bike rental shop, get fitted, and set off through the Breckenridge-to-Frisco trail corridor. The route links two of Summit County’s most iconic mountain towns through high country scenery at around 9,000 feet of elevation. It’s a beginner-friendly lesson built around real movement, and our guides cover everything along the way. Bike rental is not included in the package price but can be arranged for you in advance for an additional fee.

      Meals: Lunch, snacks

      MTB Colorado and clouds
    • The finale is a full-day guided ascent. Crystal Peak, one of our favorite objectives in the area at 13,852 feet (4,222 m), is the top option, though we settle on the exact destination together in the morning based on group energy and conditions. All transport to the trailhead is handled, along with lunch and snacks for the day. It’s an early start, a lot of vertical, and the kind of view from the top that makes the whole week click into place.

      Meals: Lunch, snacks

      Rockies hike girl
    • Included:

        • An experienced female guide with extensive knowledge of the area
        • 4-day all-women Colorado Rockies retreat
        • Accommodation for 3 nights at The Block (double occupancy) (lodging not included for those who choose the “no lodging” option)
        • Meals: 3 lunches
        • Snacks and water each day
        • Transportation from The Block to activities (Days 2–4)
        • All technical gear: helmets, harnesses, ropes, climbing shoes, rafting gear and PFDs
        • Guide gratuity (20%)

      Add-ons (pricing shown at checkout):

        • Extra night at The Block (standard room)
        • MTB rental

      Not included:

        • Travel to/from Silverthorne
        • Dinners and breakfasts
        • Personal expenses
        • Anything not mentioned in the “Included” section above
        • Insurance — recommended, available to add at checkout
    • You don’t need experience in any of the activities, but you do need to be in good physical shape. Days 2-4 each run approximately 8 hours, and back-to-back full days outdoors at altitude will be felt, especially by the end of the week.

The rafting on Day 1 is Class I-II and physically undemanding. Rock climbing on Day 2 is technique-focused rather than strength-dependent, but expect tired forearms by the end. The mountain bike ride on Day 3 is beginner-friendly, though a full day in the saddle at around 9,000 ft (2,740 m) requires a solid base.

Day 4 is the most demanding: the summit pushes to 13,852 ft (4,222 m), so cardiovascular fitness matters, and altitude affects everyone differently regardless of how fit you are.

If you can handle several consecutive days of physical activity and aren’t put off by an early start and a long climb, you’re in the right place.

    • No prior experience is required for any of the activities on this retreat. Everything is designed for beginners and first-timers, with expert women guides leading you at every step. Participants should be in good physical health and ready for challenging beginner-level outdoor activity with full days outside.

    • Colorado mountain weather can change rapidly, so layers and rain gear are strongly recommended throughout the trip.

For rafting, wear clothes you don’t mind getting wet, along with water shoes or sandals.

For mountain biking, wear comfortable layers and sturdy shoes.

For rock climbing and the summit hike, wear hiking boots or trail shoes, moisture-wicking layers, and a waterproof jacket. High-SPF sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses are essential at Colorado’s high altitudes.

    • Most activities take place at or above 9,000 ft (2,740 m), with the Day 4 summit reaching 13,852 ft (4,222 m). If you’re traveling from sea level, arriving in Silverthorne a day early to acclimatize is strongly recommended. If desired, you can add an extra night to your booking at checkout.

Stay well hydrated in the days before the trip and avoid heavy meals the night before each activity day.

    • Here’s a list of the equipment you need to bring:

        • Day pack large enough to carry everything you might need throughout the day (around a 25-40L bag)
        • Hiking boots or trail shoes
        • Athletic shoes
        • Water sandals or shoes (not flip-flops or Crocs)
        • Moisture-wicking base layers (no cotton)
        • Waterproof rain shell
        • Sun hat
        • Sunscreen (high SPF)
        • Sunglasses
        • Refillable water bottle
        • Extra snacks
        • Headlamp
        • Camera — optional (but recommended)
