Deposits

When booking a trip, you can either pay for it in full or reserve your spot with a 30% deposit. The remaining 70% of the trip price is to be paid 90 days prior to departure, at the latest.

Cancellations

After 48 hours, booking fees are non-refundable in all cases. You can choose one of 57hours’ flexibility options:

Basic
  • If canceled within 48 hours of booking, a full refund will be issued.
  • If canceled 60 or more days before departure, a 70% refund of the total trip price will be issued.
  • If canceled within 59 days of departure, no refund will be issued.
  • Booking fees are non-refundable after a 48 hours grace period.
Flexible
  • If canceled within 48 hours of booking, a full refund will be issued.
  • If canceled 60 or more days before departure, a full refund of the total trip price will be issued.
  • If canceled 30-59 days before departure, a 50% refund of the total trip price will be issued.
  • If canceled within 29 days of departure, no refund will be issued.
  • Booking fees are non-refundable after 48 hours grace period.
Super Flexible
  • If canceled within 48 hours of booking, a full refund will be issued.
  • If canceled 30 or more days before departure, a full refund of the total trip price will be issued.

  • This sport climbing course in Spain, led by pro climber Patxi Usobiaga, offers six days of intensive, hands-on coaching at world-class crags. Participants receive individualized guidance tailored to their level, covering technique, strategy, and mental skills to manage pressure and fear. With a maximum 7:1 client-to-coach ratio, video analysis, and the ‘Learn by Doing’ approach, climbers maximize time on the rock, improve rapidly, and push their limits under expert supervision.

    • Today is all about arrival and settling into your accommodation for the night. You will either climb in Rodellar, Margalef, or Terradets (depending on which date you choose). There are 6 guided climbing days ahead of you, so make sure to get some rest and explore the area if you’re up to it!

      The program begins with a comprehensive assessment at Patxi’s climbing gym in Coll de Nargó, where he analyzes your strengths and weaknesses.     • In order to join this sport climbing course in Spain, previous outdoor sport climbing experience is required, minimum On-Sight 6c (5.11b), or Red-Point 7a (5.11d) grade. Excellent fitness is also required, as the course is physically demanding.

    • Unlike basic climbing courses, this advanced sport climbing course in Spain is designed for climbers comfortable with at least 6c routes who are looking to push beyond their current limits.

      One of your instructors will be Patxi Usobiaga, a Spanish pro climber with a World Championship title, back-to-back Lead Climbing World Cup wins, and the distinction of being the first to onsight 8c+. By joining his course, participants can expect a training experience shaped by his methodical approach and years of elite performance. You’ll gain strategies to refine technique, boost power and endurance, and develop the mental focus needed to overcome fear and pressure on difficult routes.

      This is what you’ll work on:

        • Analysis of your strengths and weaknesses
        • Choosing the right hard project and a strategy for it
        • Working through the moves and getting the best beta
        • Linking the right sequences together
        • Art of mental preparation, handling the frustration, concentration, …
        • How and when to use clipstick & other techniques to pre-clip the first quickdraw
        • Movement skills — climb more efficiently
        • Perfect balance — support your center of gravity
        • Proper footwork — trust your feet
        • Special climbing techniques (side-stepping, drop knee, flagging, heel hooking, kneebar, …)
        • Redpoint and on-sight attempts, so you can tackle new climbs more easily
        • Personalized coaching to break through mental barriers
        • Choosing the right equipment for the best climbing experience while staying safe, plus advice on how to treat and store it
        • Basic understanding of outdoor risks
        • Proper lead belaying techniques, catching falls dynamically
    • While your guides provide most of the gear, you will need to bring your own climbing shoes and harness. Your guides also have belay devices, slings, and helmets, but you might prefer to bring your own.

      Here’s a list of the equipment you need to bring:

        • Day pack large enough to carry everything you might need throughout the day (around a 25-40L bag)
        • Reasonably tight climbing shoes
        • Harness

        • 2 screw gate carabiners

        • Sleeping bag
        • Water bottle or hydration bladder (2L capacity)

      Dress comfortably and for the weather in clothes you can move in. We suggest bringing clothing appropriate for the season. Layers are best and don’t wear jeans.

    • Food is not included in the price. Upon arrival, you’ll need to stop in the store to shop for breakfast and lunch food for the week. Usually, the accommodation you’ll be staying at has an equipped kitchen with a refrigerator as well as close-by shops to replenish supplies.

      There are also plenty of restaurants and bars around for dinner—communal dinners can be organized if required.

    • Group sizes and pricing

        • For this sport climbing course in Spain, the usual client-to-guide ratio is 7:1. 
        • It takes a minimum of 5 people for this tour to operate. The maximum group size is set at 15 participants.
        • You can expect 6 intensive climbing days with professional guides, an individual approach to your level, and video analysis.

      Min. age requirements

        • If you are older than 18, you’re good to go.
        • Minors older than 15 may be permitted to join the Sport climbing course in Spain on a case-by-case basis, but must be in the presence of a parent or legal guardian.

    • The price for this Sport climbing course in Spain is based on shared rooms, but a private twin-share room or a single occupancy room can be arranged at an additional fee. Let us know if interested before booking to check availability.

      The nearest airport to all of these locations is Barcelona Airport (BCN). It’s best and easiest to rent a car to reach any of these locations. It will take you 2-3 hours.
