With an expert and experienced mountain guide by your side, we’ll discover rugged mountains of the Dolomites over 6 days of hiking, and see these landscapes’ best-ofs. This route winds through dramatic limestone peaks, lush alpine meadows, and pristine glacial landscapes, offering some of the most iconic views in northern Italy—let’s discover it all together!

We’ll meet together at 9am in Pinzolo. Then we’ll take a private transfer to reach Lake Malga Bissina at 1,790 m (5,872 ft), from where we’ll reach the refuge Val di Fumo at 1,918 m (6,292 ft)—and this is where we’ll spend the night.
Elevation gain: 170 m / 560
Elevation loss: 0 m / 0 ft
Hiking: 3 hours -
Starting from the refuge Val di Fumo, we will walk to Passo delle Vacche, located at 2,872 m (9,422 ft), and then reach Bocca di Conca at 2,685 m (8,809 ft).* We’ll arrive in the early afternoon at the Refuge Carè Alto, 2,451 m (8,041 ft), where we will spend the night.
*It’s possible to extend the walk by two hours—in the afternoon, we can walk to visit some old military posts from World War I.

Elevation loss: 450 m / 1,476 ft
Hiking: 5-6 hours -
From the Carè Alto Refuge at 2,450 m (8,038 ft), we’ll reach the Altar Pass. From there, a panoramic descent begins along Val Seniciaga, where we first reach the Malga Seniciaga and then Malga Germenega. From the Malga, we’ll soon reach the beautiful and welcoming Rifugio San Giuliano at 1,955 m (6,414 ft).

Elevation loss: 1,100 m / 3,610 ft
Hiking: 7-8 hours -
From Rifugio San Giuliano, we’ll start the descent along a beautiful path to the village of Carisolo, passing through Malga Campo and Malga Diaga. Accommodation for tonight will be in a hotel in Pinzolo. In the afternoon, you can visit the Geology Museum of the Adamello-Brenta Natural Park.

Elevation loss: 1,200 m / 3,940 ft
Hiking: 3-4 hours -
Transfer to Vallesinella, Madonna di Campiglio. Through the Bear Path, we will arrive at Rifugio Vallesinella at 1,550 m (5,085 ft), and then to the beautiful Rifugio Tuckett, 2,272 m (7,454 ft), where we’ll spend the night.
Elevation gain: 900 m / 2,953 ft
Elevation loss: 0 m / ft
Hiking: 4-5 hours -
From the Tuckett Refuge, along an easy path, we will walk up to Passo Grostè, 2,438 m (7,999 ft), where a splendid panorama of the entire Brenta Dolomites chain and Adamello-Presanella’s chain will welcome us. After a short break, we’ll start a fabulous descent to the town of Andalo, 1,000 m (3,281 ft), passing through Passo della Gaiarda, 2,242 m (7,356 ft), and Malga Spora, 1,854 m (6,083 ft). Our wonderful trek through the Adamello-Brenta Natural Park ends here. After an aperitif and greetings, a private transfer will be ready to take you back to the village of Pinzolo.

Hiking: 7-8 hours -
After breakfast, either head to the airport or continue exploring the mighty Dolomites!

This Dolomites hut-to-hut hiking tour is ideal for experienced hikers who have excellent fitness and experience at high altitudes. Proper physical preparation (if necessary) is a must. You can find day-by-day distances and elevation gains in the itinerary, but in general, you’ll gain up to 1,000 m (3,300 ft) of elevation in a day and hike for up to 8 hours a day.
Make sure you’re ready for this Dolomites hut-to-hut hiking adventure—it’s no walk in the park and it’s definitely not recommended for first-time multi-day hikers.

- Backpack large enough to carry everything you will need (around a 30-35L bag)
- High trekking boots with Vibram sole — rental available
- Long and short synthetic trekking trousers
- Lightweight technical fleece
- Technical underwear shirt with long or short sleeves
- Waterproof windbreaker type (Gore-Tex shell or similar)
- Medium-weight synthetic down
- Sunglasses
- Sun hat (optional)

- 1 water bottle inside with 1/1.5 liters of water
- Snacks to eat along the route (such as energy bars or dried fruit)
- A light sheet/sleeping bag for nights in the refuge

Dress comfortably and for the weather in clothes you can move in. We suggest bringing clothing appropriate for the season. Layers are best and don’t wear jeans.

- It takes at least 2 participants for this tour to run, but if you’re just one person interested, the tour can be arranged at an additional cost—let us know in advance. The maximum group size is set at 8 participants.
- The cost per person decreases as the group grows, so it’s the perfect opportunity to hike with friends and family!

The starting point of your Dolomites hut-to-hut hiking adventure in Pinzolo, Val Rendena. To get there, there are multiple airports to fly into—Bolzano Airport (BZO), Verona Airport (VRN), Milan Bergamo (BGY), Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE)… Depending on where you land, it will take you anywhere between 1.5-3 hours—you can rent a car, take public transport…
Your guides can arrange a private transfer from the airport to Pinzolo, let us know upon booking if you’re interested. Day 1 is all about arrival, and you’ll meet your guide at 9am on Day 2.
