To join this Dolomites trail running adventure, excellent fitness is required, along with solid experience running or hiking in mountain terrain.

On the biggest days, you’ll cover up to 20 km (12 mi) with up to 1,200 m (4,000 ft) of elevation gain.

• • The 6-day itinerary covers roughly 56 km (35 mi) and 3,660 m (12,000 ft) of total elevation gain across 4 running days.
  • The 7-day covers roughly 72–76 km (45–47 mi) and 4,300 m (14,000 ft) across 5 running days.

This is not a beginner-friendly trip. Everyone is expected to carry mandatory gear, handle exposure on steep mountain trails, and be prepared to complete the full distance each day. The guides set a comfortable, non-competitive pace and expect hiking on the ascents—but the terrain is demanding regardless.

Both trips cover the Dolomites’ best trails with the same guides, the same rifugio night, and the same standard of accommodation and food. Here’s how they differ:

• • 6-day Classic: Based primarily in San Martino di Castrozza, then Cortina d’Ampezzo. Four running days covering Cima Rosetta, the happy valley at Passo Rolle, Cinque Torri, and Tre Cime. Roughly 56 km (35 mi) and 3,660 m (12,000 ft) of total elevation gain. All dinners included except none.
  • 7-day Full Loop: Opens with a transfer from Venice and spends more time based in Cortina d’Ampezzo. Five running days—the same four routes plus a point-to-point traverse from Passo Giau to the base of Monte Pelmo. Roughly 72–76 km (45–47 mi) and 4,300 m (14,000 ft) of total elevation gain. One dinner in Cortina is on your own.

If you have the time and the legs, the 7-day is the fuller experience. If you’re working with a tighter schedule or want to ease into the distance, the 6-day hits all the essential routes without anything left to complain about.

Group sizes and pricing

• • For this Dolomites trail running adventure, the usual client-to-guide ratio is 8:1. In general, there will almost always be 2 run guides and 1 operations team member for safety and logistics.
  • It takes a minimum of 8 people for this tour to operate. The maximum group size is set at 12 participants.
  • Solo travelers are welcome—they can either share a room with another same-gender solo traveler at no extra cost, or guarantee a private room by paying a single occupancy fee.

The starting point of your Dolomites trail running adventure is Venice. To get there, most people fly into Venice (VCE) Airport. Your guide will pick you up (included in the price), please aim to arrive by 12 pm.
