Cancellations

  • Embark on a 4-day adventure to the legendary Mount Olympus, where Greek myths come to life and every step feels like a page from Homer’s Odyssey. Trek through lush, storybook forests to the Muses Plateau, a place so picturesque it might just inspire your own epic poetry. Challenge your inner hero with a climb to Mytikas, the throne of Zeus and the highest peak in Greece, where panoramic views will make you feel like a demigod. We’ll recharge in mountain huts perched under starry skies before descending into the magical Enipeas Gorge. Let’s walk the trails of gods, gaze at celestial peaks, and create our own tale on Greece’s most iconic mountain!

    • The day starts in Litochoro, where the group will meet and head together towards Dion, the starting point of the hiking tour. The route we will cover on the first day is a 10 km / 6.2 mi route, and it’s one of the most popular hiking trails on Mt. Olympus. Most of this route passes through dense pine, beech, and fir forests. The ending point of the first day is the Petrostrougga refuge, where we will spend the night.

      Litochoro city

    • Today, we will leave for the Muses Plateau, passing Skourta peak, the spectacular horizontal ridge of Laimos, and the famous pass of Yossos. Upon arriving at the plateau, we’ll see the unique throne of Zeus and the surrounding peaks. If weather permits, we can hike to Mytikas peak or to Prophet Ilias (2,803 m / 9,196 ft) and see its chapel.

      Hikers in the Olympus region

    • We’ll wake up early in the morning to enjoy the magnificent view and sunrise from the Muses Plateau, and later on, we will cross Zonaria, heading for Mt. Olympus’ high peaks (Skala, Skolio, or Mytikas) depending on weather conditions. Afterwards, we’ll end up at the Spilios Agapitos hut for the night.

    • On the last day, we will head to Prionia, and then to Enipeas Gorge with its wonderful waters, waterfall, and wooden bridges. Later on, we’ll visit the cave of Saint Dionysios and its chapel. Afterwards, it’s time to say our goodbyes and depart back home.

    • This Mt. Olympus hiking tour in Greece is rated moderate. Good fitness is required. Expect to walk 10 to 12 km / 6.2 mi to 7.4 mi or 5 to 7 hours each day. The most you’ll climb in a day is +1,755 m / +5,757 ft, and you can find day-by-day distances in the itinerary.

    • Here’s a list of the equipment you need to bring:

      Dress comfortably and for the weather in clothes you can move in. We suggest bringing clothing appropriate for the season. Layers are best and don’t wear jeans.

    • Group sizes and pricing

        • For this Mt. Olympus hiking tour, the usual client-to-guide ratio is 5:1.
        • It takes a minimum of 2 people for this tour to operate. The maximum group size is set at 10 participants.

      Min. age requirements

        • If you are older than 18, you’re good to go.
        • Minors younger than 18 may be permitted to join the Mt. Olympus hiking tour on a case-by-case basis, but must be in the presence of a parent or legal guardian.

      If your group has hikers under the age of 18, contact us prior to booking to make arrangements.

    • The starting point of your Mt. Olympus hiking tour is Litochoro. To get there, most people fly into Thessaloniki Airport (SKG). From there, you can use public transport or rent a car to reach Litochoro.

      Once you’re there, you will meet your guide at a predetermined time and head towards Dion, the starting point of the hiking tour. Your guide will provide more information before the tour starts.
