Cancellation policy

The percentages in the table above are of the full trip price, not of what you’ve paid at the time of booking.

Cancellations made within 48 hours of booking receive a full refund on all plans, including booking fees and insurance. After the 48-hour window, your refund depends on your selected protection plan and when you cancel. Core and Premium plans extend your cancellation rights beyond the Standard policy:

  • With Core, a covered reason gets you 75% of your trip cost back — even the day before you go.
  • With Premium, a covered reason gets you 100% of your trip cost back — and any other reason gets you 75%, right up to the day you leave.
What counts as a covered reason
  • Sudden illness or injury — yours, a travel companion’s, or an immediate family member’s, confirmed by a doctor
  • Death of a traveler or an immediate family member
  • A natural disaster affecting your destination or your departure point
  • A government travel advisory against travel to your destination

Changing your mind isn’t a covered reason. Premium is the only plan that covers that. Documentation is required for all insurance claims.

Everything the travel insurance covers

Both plans include travel insurance through Redpoint Travel Protection. Core insures 75% of your trip cost; Premium insures 100%.

Maximum per person:

  • Trip cancellation — up to 100% of your trip cost
  • Cancel for any reason — up to 75% of your trip cost (Premium only)
  • Trip interruption — 150% of the trip cost limit
  • Trip delay — $200 a day, $1,000 max
  • Itinerary change — $250
  • Single occupancy supplement — up to 100% of trip cost
  • Missed connection — $1,000
  • Travel inconvenience — $250 each, $750 max
  • Pet return — $1,000 per pet
  • Baggage and personal effects — $2,500, max $300 an item
  • Baggage delay — $600, after 12 hours
  • Baggage delivery — $100 per trip
  • Emergency medical expenses — $100,000
  • Medical evacuation and repatriation — up to $1,000,000

These are maximums. What a claim actually pays depends on what you can document and on the policy’s exclusions — pre-existing conditions and undeclared activities among them. We’ll send the full policy wording with your confirmation.

  • This 7-day cycling holiday traces four of South Australia's greatest wine regions on smooth, purpose-built rail trails. Starting and finishing in Adelaide, we ride the Barossa Trail, the Riesling Trail through Clare Valley, the Amy Gillett Bikeway in the Adelaide Hills, and the Shiraz Trail in McLaren Vale at a genuinely unhurried pace. A dedicated support vehicle travels with the group throughout, luggage is transferred between stops, and each riding day includes winery stops, gourmet lunches, and quality restaurant evenings. Groups are capped at 10, accommodation is great, and the only thing more scenic than the trails is what's in the glass at the end of them.

    • We arrive in Adelaide and transfer to our hotel in the city center. After settling in, we meet the group for a 2-course welcome dinner at a local restaurant. It’s a chance to get acquainted with fellow riders and get excited about the week ahead.

      Meals: Dinner
      Accommodation: Hotel in Adelaide

    • We transfer to the Barossa Valley for our first day on the bike, riding along the off-road Barossa Trail through one of Australia’s most celebrated wine regions. The route takes in iconic stops at producers including Penfolds, Maggie Beer’s Farm Shop, and Yalumba, with wine tastings and gourmet food sampling woven into the ride. It’s a warm, sociable day that sets the tone for the rest of the week.

    • After breakfast in the Barossa, we transfer via the iconic Seppeltsfield Road to Auburn and begin the Riesling Trail, one of South Australia’s most loved cycling routes. We pedal through the Clare Valley’s rolling wine country on a converted railway line, passing vineyards and small towns all the way to Clare. The highlight is a long, relaxed lunch at Skillogalee Winery, well regarded for its exceptional food and Clare Valley wines. The evening is free.

      Meals: Breakfast, lunch
Accommodation: Clare Valley Country Club (or similar), Clare
      Cycling: 35 km (22 mi)

      Riesling trail biker
    • We ride back toward Auburn on a slightly different route through the Clare Valley, with optional detours along the way and a platter-style lunch at O’Leary Walker Winery. After some time in the saddle, we transfer to the Adelaide Hills and settle into Hahndorf, Australia’s oldest surviving German settlement, with a charming heritage main street and excellent access to the Hills’ wine and food scene. Two nights here. The evening is free.

      Meals: Full breakfast, lunch

      Clare valley bikers
    • Today’s ride follows the Amy Gillett Bikeway through the lush Adelaide Hills, a smooth and easy path through vineyards and native bushland. Along the way, we stop for chocolate and wine tastings before the day wraps up with a special dinner at the chef-hatted restaurant at Mount Lofty Estate. For many riders, it’s the standout meal of the week.

    • This South Australia cycling holiday is designed for recreational cyclists of all experience levels. Expect to cycle between 20 and 35 km (12–22 mi) per day on flat to gently rolling, traffic-free rail trails. No prior cycle touring experience is needed.

If you’re comfortable riding a bike for 2–3 hours at a relaxed pace, you’re well prepared. Luggage is transferred between stops, so only a small day pack is needed on the bike.

    • Bikes are not included in the base tour price but are available to hire at the time of booking. The hire fleet includes hybrid-style bikes equipped with 27 gears, a rear rack and bag, water bottle holders, and a soft saddle.

E-bikes are also available, a great choice if you’d prefer a more relaxed ride or want to join without worrying about keeping pace. Both step-through and regular-style e-bikes are on offer. If you have any specific requirements, flag them when booking. Helmets are included with all hire options.

Prefer to bring your own? BYO bikes are welcome. A hybrid-style or hardtail mountain bike works best, as some sections of the route run on hard-packed gravel. BYO helmets required.

    • The standard hire option is the Trek Dual Sport, a flat-bar hybrid with a lightweight aluminium frame, front suspension, and 700c wheels that handle both smooth roads and hard-packed gravel well. All bikes come fitted with a rear rack, small pannier bag, and water bottle holder, with pickup, drop-off, and an on-tour repair warranty included.

E-bikes are Velectrix Urban pedal-assist models, available in step-through and crossbar styles, with four levels of assist and up to 60 km (37 mi) of battery range per charge.

    • Clothing:

        • Comfortable clothing suitable for cycling
        • Covered shoes suitable for cycling
        • Bike helmet (provided with bike rentals, but you’re welcome to bring your own)
        • Sun hat
        • Light rain jacket
        • Casual clothes for evenings

      Gear:

        • Sunscreen and sunglasses
        • Water bottle or hydration bladder
        • Small daypack for personal items during rides
        • Personal toiletries
        • Camera (optional, but highly recommended)

Dress comfortably and for the weather in clothes you can move in. We suggest bringing clothing appropriate for the season. Layers are best and don’t wear jeans.
