Our adventure begins in Interlaken, Switzerland’s famous mountain resort tucked between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz. After checking into our hotel, we’ll gather for a relaxed welcome dinner, get to know the rest of the group, and go over what’s ahead over the next few days. This comfortable first evening gives international travelers a chance to settle into Switzerland before we head into the mountains tomorrow.

After breakfast, a private transfer takes us deep into the mountains, where our snowshoe adventure begins. Before setting off, we’ll review our avalanche safety equipment and make sure everyone’s comfortable using a transceiver, shovel, and probe. Today’s route leads through peaceful forests, snow-covered alpine meadows, and spectacular mountain scenery, with a picnic lunch along the way. By evening, we’ll arrive at our welcoming mountain hotel, where a delicious dinner of regional Swiss specialities awaits.

We continue exploring the Bernese Oberland today, following carefully selected snowshoe trails through pristine winter landscapes. With only a small group, there’s plenty of time to stop for photographs, take in the scenery, and enjoy the quiet of the mountains. Our final destination is the historic Hotel Kemmeriboden-Bad, one of Switzerland’s most charming mountain hotels, known for its warm hospitality, outstanding regional cuisine, and beautiful alpine setting. Before dinner, we’ll unwind in the hotel’s sauna after another memorable day in the snow.

After breakfast, we’ll head out for one final snowshoe walk before a private transfer returns us to Interlaken in the afternoon. From here, it’s easy to continue your Swiss adventure or travel onwards to Zurich or Geneva Airport.

In order to join this snowshoeing tour in the Bernese Oberland, good fitness is required. Snowshoeing isn’t difficult, but you do need to be able to walk 4-5 hours per day (excluding breaks), three days in a row.

The starting point of your Bernese Oberland snowshoeing tour is Interlaken, Switzerland. Interlaken is easily reached by train from both Zurich Airport (ZRH) and Geneva Airport (GVA). We recommend arriving a little earlier to explore Interlaken or extend your stay after the trip—popular highlights nearby include Lauterbrunnen, Grindelwald, Mürren, and the Jungfrau Region.
You’ll meet your guide on Day 1 in Interlaken, where a private transfer will take the group to the trailhead the following morning.
