Expect a mix of skinning and short bootpacks, leading to stunning ridgelines and wide-open bowls. The drive to San Martín de los Andes follows the famous Seven Lakes Route, winding through the heart of the Patagonian Lakes District with breathtaking views at every turn. Back on the skis, the day starts with lift-accessed touring in the slackcountry of Cerro Chapelco. The terrain offers spectacular views of Volcán Lanín and Lago Lácar, with a hidden back bowl providing a great loop away from the crowds. If conditions call for it, the ancient lenga forest offers some of the best tree skiing in Patagonia, with mystical hanging moss known as “old man’s beard” creating an unforgettable setting. In the afternoon, the trip continues with a scenic drive to Villa La Angostura.

We’ll be eating a variety of food in huts, including sandwiches. One night, we’ll go to a folklore show with tasty empanadas and meat, and there will also be veggie options for vegetarians. And since we’re in Argentina, we’ll surely have a high-quality steak at least once during our adventure. Special dietary requirements can be accommodated.
