Our second day at Cerro Bayo starts with a morning lift ride to the ridgeline, where a short hike opens up access to pristine back bowls and endless terrain. With sweeping lake views and a mix of playful and steep lines, this is a dream zone for backcountry skiers. The southeast-facing slopes often hold excellent snow, so there’s time for several laps of fresh turns. For those looking for more of a challenge, steeper terrain is always an option. In the early afternoon, we drive to San Martín de los Andes.

If conditions call for it, the ancient lenga forest has some of the best tree skiing in Patagonia. Hanging moss known as “old man’s beard” makes it a setting you won’t forget. After a full day on the mountain, we head back to San Martín de los Andes for our final night.
