The adventure begins with a full day of backcountry skiing in Cerro Catedral Alta Patagonia, the largest ski resort in the Southern Hemisphere and a gateway to world-class off-piste terrain. Expect a mix of skinning and short bootpacks, leading to stunning ridgelines and wide-open bowls. Today is all about rest and soaking in the scenery. The drive to San Martín de los Andes follows the famous Seven Lakes Route, winding through the heart of the Patagonian Lakes District with breathtaking views at every turn. This easygoing day offers time to explore downtown San Martín, wander through its charming streets, and take in the beauty of the surrounding landscapes before settling in for the night.

Back on the skis, the day starts with lift-accessed touring in the slackcountry of Cerro Chapelco. The terrain offers spectacular views of Volcán Lanín and Lago Lácar, with a hidden back bowl providing a great loop away from the crowds. If conditions call for it, the ancient lenga forest offers some of the best tree skiing in Patagonia, with mystical hanging moss known as “old man’s beard” creating an unforgettable setting. In the afternoon, the trip continues with a scenic drive to Villa La Angostura.
