This 8-day round-trip route sails out of Split and back again, looping through Brač, Hvar, the Pakleni islands, Korčula, Lastovo, Vis, and Šolta. Trail runs range from about 4 to 10 miles (7 to 16.5 km) a day, taking in everything from Hvar's lavender-lined ridges to Vis's abandoned stone village of Dragodid and, weather permitting, the Blue Cave. The boat closes the loop each evening, so mornings are built around running and afternoons around sailing, swimming, and the odd wine tasting. It's the same rhythm as the Split-to-Dubrovnik route, just doubled back on itself, for travelers who'd rather start and end in the same place.

    • We board in Split and set sail for Brač Island, dropping anchor in Postira after a relaxed crossing of 12 NM (13.8 mi), roughly 1.5 to 2 hours. Along the way, we stop for a swim in the bay at Splitska. Postira makes for an easy first night, with a walkable waterfront and small tavernas serving Dalmatian classics before we settle in aboard.

      Meals: Dinner
      Accommodation: Sailboat

      Brac island aerial
    • We run from Postira through Dol to Škrip, Brač’s oldest settlement at roughly 3,000 years old. A stop at the Olive Oil Museum comes with a proper lunch before we sail on to Jelsa on Hvar Island (26 NM / 29.9 mi, 3.5 to 5 hours), with a swim stop along the way and the night spent in Jelsa’s harbor.

      Running: 11 km (6.8 mi), +550 m (+1,804 ft)
      Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner
      Accommodation: Sailboat

      Hvar aerial
    • From Jelsa, we run up over Hvar’s ridge and down through Galešnik, Pitve, and Vrisnik, with a stop at Terra Arhaica in Vrisnik to explore the island’s wine and farming traditions. We then sail to the Pakleni islands (20 NM / 23 mi, 3 to 4 hours), with an optional water taxi into Hvar town for anyone after a livelier night.

      Running: 13 km (8.1 mi), +700 m (+2,297 ft)
      Meals: Breakfast, dinner
      Accommodation: Sailboat

      Pakleni otoci
    • Today’s run is a loop around Sveti Klement, the largest of the Pakleni islands, before we sail to Vela Luka on Korčula Island (18 NM / 20.7 mi, about 3 hours). We stop for a wine tasting on Korčula, plus a swim at Proizd, a small islet with some of the clearest water on the route.

      Running: 7 km (4.3 mi), +100 m (+328 ft)
      Meals: Breakfast, dinner
      Accommodation: Sailboat

      Korcula island
    • A circular trail out of Vela Luka takes in Vela Spila, a cave with traces of human use going back thousands of years, before we sail on to Lastovo (18 NM / 20.7 mi, about 3 hours). Dinner is at a local tavern serving fresh, garden-to-table food, a fitting welcome to one of the Adriatic’s quietest islands.

      Running: 10 km (6.2 mi), +500 m (+1,640 ft)
      Meals: Breakfast, dinner
      Accommodation: Sailboat

      Lastovo bay
    • Lastovo’s trails wind past pine forest and the island’s landmark chimneys, known locally as fumari, before we sail on to Komiža on Vis Island, the longest crossing of the trip at 36 NM (41.4 mi), about 6 hours.

      Running: 11 km (6.8 mi), +400 m (+1,312 ft)
      Meals: Breakfast
      Accommodation: Sailboat

      Vis Blue Cave
    • The longest run of the trip heads from Komiža up and over Mount Hum to Dragodid, an abandoned stone village with sweeping views back over Vis. Weather permitting, we also stop by the Blue Cave before sailing to Stomorska on Šolta Island (30 NM / 34.5 mi, 4 to 5 hours).

      Running: 16.5 km (10.3 mi), +850 m (+2,789 ft)
      Meals: Breakfast
      Accommodation: Sailboat

      Solta island
    • The final leg is a short sail from Šolta back to Split (9 NM / 10.4 mi, about 1.5 hours), with breakfast served on board. We disembark by 9 am; anyone who wants a look at Split before heading home can join an optional short tour of the old town.
