Scale single- and multi-pitch routes as you discover these limestone river canyons and their sport climbing objectives. Round out your Moroccan experience by visiting cities such as Ouarzazate, the Hollywood of Africa, and other scenic areas. Hop on a camel’s back for a ride through the Sahara and witness incredible desert vistas!
After you arrive in Marrakech and meet your guide, you’ll have breakfast, leave Marrakech, and make your way through the Atlas Mountains and the Tichka Pass (7,415 ft/2,260 m). Here you’ll be able to experience stunning landscapes in the heart of the Atlas Mountains. Head to Ouarzazate, a famous film-making location and a city nicknamed “the door of the desert” and “the Hollywood of Africa”. Many films, including Alexander the Great, The Mummy, The Diamond of the Nile, were filmed in this lovely city. After a quick stop at one of the most incredible fortresses in southern Morocco and a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Aït Benhaddou, you’ll have lunch in Ouarzazate. Make your way to the Valley of Roses and spend the night in the Todgha Valley.
Today will be the first day of rock climbing in Todgha Gorge. Start with some single-pitch sport climbing routes and let your guide help you with your technique along the way.
Get on the rocks again and climb various multi-pitch sport routes with the help of your guide. In the evening, you’ll get a chance to visit a traditional Berber family home, try some homemade snacks and tea, witness the art of carpet making in person, and even buy authentic carpets and rugs. This visit is optional.
Today is the last day of rock climbing in Todgha Gorge. Scale various multi-pitch sport routes with the assistance of your guide. In the evening, your guide will organize an optional visit to the city of Tinghir. You’ll get a free evening and return to the hotel for the night.
After your delicious breakfast, you’ll continue your tour to the Todra Gorge. Follow the ancient Bedouin trade routes and pass through a series of fortified villages. Here you’ll get to witness amazing pre-Saharan architecture and incredible landscapes.
Known for its wealth of marble black fossils, the road to Erfoud is one of the most scenic roads of the south. Head towards the dunes of Merzouga—here, sand dunes signify the beginning of the Sahara. Hop on a camel to experience an unforgettable tour in the desert. After dinner, gather around the fire and experience what it feels like to enjoy the night in the desert with traditional Berber songs and drums.
The final day of this exciting trip has unfortunately arrived. Revel in the amazing sunrise and ride the camel’s back to your hotel to have breakfast. A long drive back to Marrakech is ahead of you. Use this time to recall all the adventures from this unique trip!

What’s not included:
If you can climb a ladder, you’re good to go. Being in good shape is always a plus but far from necessary. Rock climbing is all about using good movement technique rather than muscling up a cliff using brute strength. To ensure you have a fun day, your guide will choose routes that best suit your skill and fitness level.
As far as the hiking portion of the trip is concerned, you’ll be sightseeing for three days in hot weather. Keep in mind, you’ll also be packing a daypack filled with water and other things you’ll need throughout the day.
The rock climbing portion of this adventure is for intermediate and advanced climbers who have some climbing experience under their belt. The Todgha Gorge has loads of routes to spend the day on. Your guide will discuss your objectives and customize the day to your goals. Let your guide plan the day so you can focus on developing your skills while climbing the classic routes or best hidden gems the area has to offer.
All technical climbing equipment will be provided by your guiding service. However, if you have your own gear, feel free to bring it. You’ll need:

Dress comfortably and for the weather in clothes you can move in. We suggest bringing clothing appropriate for the season. Layers are best and don’t wear jeans.

Climbing and hiking days in the Todgha Gorge area can be arranged for bigger groups. Contact us prior to booking.
Min. age requirements:
If your group has climbers under the age of 18, contact us prior to booking to make arrangements.
A 30% deposit to secure your place is due upon booking. The remaining amount is paid 3 months (90 days) prior to departure. Once the trip is confirmed by the guide, the cancellation policy stated below applies.
To get to Todgha Gorge, most people fly into Marrakech Menara Airport (RAK), about 6 hours away from Todgha Gorge. From there, you can drive, take a shuttle service or taxi to get to your hotel in Marrakech.
Once you and your guide agree on the details of your itinerary, you will meet your guide in Marrakech at the lobby of your hotel. On Day 1, you and the rest of the clients will leave Marrakech for an adventure through the Atlas Mountains. The guide will choose the appropriate terrain dependent on conditions and the ability of the group.
On Day 6, you’ll be transferred to Marrakech where your adventure ends.
