Your adventure starts in Oslo where you will spend the night before heading north. Depending on the time of your arrival, you can explore what this Scandinavian capital has to offer! With attractions such as the Viking Ship Museum, the National Museum of Norway, the Oslo Opera House, and the Vigeland Sculpture Park, everyone can find something for themselves.
The day starts with an early flight to Tromsø. Once you arrive in the city—the third largest urban area north of the Arctic Circle—you can do some last-minute preparations (like renting equipment) for the skiing tour itself with the help of your guide, or spend some time in the city before you transfer to the accommodation. Your accommodation will be a cottage near Lyngseidet, a neat fishing village two hours from Tromsø.
Start your days with breakfast in your cozy cottage and head to various skiing venues. A typical day will involve 6-8 hours of skiing with up to 2,000 meters (6,500 ft) of climbing and several ski descents. Some of the usual backcountry tours you will most likely experience are Tafeltinden, Store Jaegervasstinden, and Daltinden, with various other options available. Your guide will choose the best skiing locations depending on weather conditions and the ability level of your group. The three above-mentioned tours are around 15 kilometers long (9.5 miles), with Tafeltinden and Daltinden being moderately difficult and Store Jaegervasstinden difficult. Summit range of the three tours is between around 1,400 m and 1,550 m (5,000–5,090 ft). After a day of skiing, you will get back to your accommodation for a well-deserved après-ski with a Norwegian-style dinner.
On the last day of your adventure you will go back to Tromsø from Lyngseidet and board a flight to Oslo. You’ll get another chance to explore the city according to your interests before saying goodbye to Norway!
Wake up in your accommodation in Oslo and start the day with a hearty breakfast. Take the last stroll through its grandiose streets before heading back home either by plane or other means of transport—or continuing touring in Norway on your own.
