57hours is committed to providing safe outdoor adventure experiences. We require all guides using our platform to have a COVID-19 safety plan and to make the details of that plan accessible to travelers. In most cases, group sizes will be reduced, guides will avoid overcrowded locations, and other safety measures will be met depending on the location and activity.

We also expect clients to respect local regulations and take measures to protect themselves, guides and the communities they’re travelling to. In order to participate in this moderately strenuous hiking adventures, you need to be reasonably fit and have a bit of hiking experience. The best thing about hiking in Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks is that there are incredible options for all skill levels. For beginner hikes, if you can walk for four to six hours with little elevation gain, you are good to go! Intermediate hikes will see a little more change in elevation and hikes will start to increase in length, hiking anywhere between four to eight miles. Keep in mind, the weather in summer can be very hot and you’ll also be packing a daypack filled with water and other things you’ll need throughout the day.

Here’s a list of the equipment you need to bring:

• • Day pack large enough to carry all the items listed (20+ L bag)
  • Warm jacket
  • Waterproof rain jacket
  • Rain pants — optional
  • Wool socks
  • Breathable wicking layers
  • Warm hat or sunhat
  • Buff or neck scarf
  • Lightweight hiking pants
  • Spare clothes for layering
  • Lightweight hiking boots or shoes
  • Pack cover
  • Hiking poles — optional
  • Reusable water bottles or hydration bladders (2L capacity)
  • Biodegradable toiletries (sunscreen, hand sanitizer, insect repellent, toilet paper, etc.)
  • Personal first-aid kit (including blister treatment)
  • Headlamp or flashlight
  • Sunglasses
  • Camera — optional (but recommended)

Dress comfortably and for the weather in clothes you can move in. We suggest bringing clothing appropriate for the season. Layers are best and don’t wear jeans.

Group sizes and prices:

• • For these private adventures, the usual group sizes are between 1-10 people.
  • Cost per person decreases as the group grows, so it’s the perfect opportunity to hike with friends and family!

Hiking in Sequoia and Kings Canyon NPs can be arranged for larger groups. Contact us to make arrangements.

Min. age requirements:

• • If you are older than 18, you’re good to go.
  • Minors younger than 18 may be permitted to join the hike on a case-by-case basis, but must be in the presence of a parent or legal guardian.

If your group has hikers under the age of 18, contact us prior to booking to make arrangements.

To get to Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, most people fly into Fresno Yosemite International Airport 1.5 hours from Sequoia National Park and 1 hour away from Kings Canyon National Park. From there, you can rent a car or take a bus.

Once you and your guide agree on the details of your itinerary, your guide will suggest the best place to meet, whether that’s at the guide shop or a predetermined location. The guide will choose the appropriate terrain dependent on conditions and the ability of the group.

For 2 days of Hiking in Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks, you can pay an additional $950 for transportation from nearby major cities (San Francisco, Los Angeles or Sacramento) each way. Contact us prior to booking to make arrangements.

Cancellations made more than 30 days before the trip start date will receive a refund, less a 20% cancellation fee. Cancellations made within 30 days of a trip start date will receive no refund.

Participants exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, who receive a positive test result, or who have had direct exposure to a positive case within 14 days of a trip’s departure will be asked to postpone their booking to a later date (additional fees may apply).Good Trip Adventures monitors the communities we visit. Should any situations arise which we consider detrimental to group safety, a trip departure may be canceled or postponed. In the event of such a cancellation, full or partial refunds or trip credits will be offered.

Good Trip Adventures is not responsible for the cost of any flight changes or additional travel expenses if a participant is requested to change trip dates for safety reasons. Depending on current travel restrictions, participants may be asked to provide a negative COVID test upon arrival for a trip.
