Cancellation policy

The percentages in the table above are of the full trip price, not of what you’ve paid at the time of booking.

Cancellations made within 48 hours of booking receive a full refund on all plans, including booking fees and insurance. After the 48-hour window, your refund depends on your selected protection plan and when you cancel. Core and Premium plans extend your cancellation rights beyond the Standard policy:

  • With Core, a covered reason gets you 75% of your trip cost back — even the day before you go.
  • With Premium, a covered reason gets you 100% of your trip cost back — and any other reason gets you 75%, right up to the day you leave.
What counts as a covered reason
  • Sudden illness or injury — yours, a travel companion’s, or an immediate family member’s, confirmed by a doctor
  • Death of a traveler or an immediate family member
  • A natural disaster affecting your destination or your departure point
  • A government travel advisory against travel to your destination

Changing your mind isn’t a covered reason. Premium is the only plan that covers that. Documentation is required for all insurance claims.

Everything the travel insurance covers

Both plans include travel insurance through Redpoint Travel Protection. Core insures 75% of your trip cost; Premium insures 100%.

Maximum per person:

  • Trip cancellation — up to 100% of your trip cost
  • Cancel for any reason — up to 75% of your trip cost (Premium only)
  • Trip interruption — 150% of the trip cost limit
  • Trip delay — $200 a day, $1,000 max
  • Itinerary change — $250
  • Single occupancy supplement — up to 100% of trip cost
  • Missed connection — $1,000
  • Travel inconvenience — $250 each, $750 max
  • Pet return — $1,000 per pet
  • Baggage and personal effects — $2,500, max $300 an item
  • Baggage delay — $600, after 12 hours
  • Baggage delivery — $100 per trip
  • Emergency medical expenses — $100,000
  • Medical evacuation and repatriation — up to $1,000,000

These are maximums. What a claim actually pays depends on what you can document and on the policy’s exclusions — pre-existing conditions and undeclared activities among them. We’ll send the full policy wording with your confirmation.

  • Seven days, six guided hikes, and one hotel in Formigal we come back to every night. We start with Peña Foratata to find our legs, then build through the week: the glacial lakes of Anayet, the stone arch below Peña Telera, the long valley walk to Refugio de Respomuso, and the full 360-degree panorama from Punta del Pacino. The finale takes us above Balneario de Panticosa to the Ibones de Bachimaña, the biggest day of mountain scenery of the lot. Breakfast and dinner are included throughout, and on the last morning we transfer back to Zaragoza for onward trains.

    • We ease into the week with a loop around Peña Foratata, the jagged landmark that towers over Formigal and sets the tone for everything that follows. The trail takes us through alpine meadows and rockier ground, with wide views opening up over the surrounding peaks and valleys as we climb. It’s a proper introduction to the wild side of the Aragonese Pyrenees without asking too much of your legs on day one. Back in Formigal, we settle into the hotel, swap first impressions over dinner, and take it easy for the evening.

      Meals: Dinner
      Distance: 8.8 km (5.5 mi)
      Elevation: +615 m (+2,018 ft)
Accommodation: Hotel Snö Aragón Hills, Formigal

Peña Foratata — Hiking in Pyrenees
    • Today we head for one of the most photographed corners of the Pyrenees. The trail leads through open valleys and rough alpine ground until the Ibones de Anayet appear, with the sharp outline of Pico Anayet mirrored in the water. Huge rock formations and big mountain views make this a standout day. If conditions and the group are up for it, we can push on toward the summit of Pico Anayet. If not, there’s no shame in a slower day by the lakes before we retrace our steps. Dinner back at the hotel in Formigal.

      Meals: Breakfast, dinner
      Distance: 16 km (9.9 mi)
      Elevation: +880 m (+2,887 ft)
Accommodation: Hotel Snö Aragón Hills, Formigal

Ibones de Anayet and Pico Anayet — Hiking in Pyrenees
    • We shift to the landscape around Piedrafita de Jaca for a hike to the Arco de Piedrafita, a natural stone arch sitting below the rugged flanks of Peña Telera. Quiet woodland fills the first stretch, then the trees thin out and the views of the surrounding peaks take over. The arch itself is the star, an odd and brilliant piece of geology that keeps the cameras busy. Forests, mountain scenery, and one of the valley’s most distinctive landmarks in a single day.

      Meals: Breakfast, dinner
      Distance: 11.5 km (7.1 mi)
      Elevation: +525 m (+1,722 ft)
Accommodation: Hotel Snö Aragón Hills, Formigal

Arco de Piedrafita — Hiking in Pyrenees
    • Today we head deep into the high mountains, starting from La Sarra and climbing towards Refugio de Respomuso. The trail follows the Aguas Limpias stream through forest and past waterfalls, and the scenery gets bigger and wilder with every switchback as we move into the upper valley. Our destination is the mountain refuge sitting beside the Respomuso reservoir, ringed by some of the most striking peaks around. It’s a classic Pyrenean route, a good honest climb with huge views the whole way, and we retrace our steps back down to the valley.

      Meals: Breakfast, dinner
      Distance: 14 km (8.7 mi)
      Elevation: +730 m (+2,395 ft)
      Accommodation: Hotel Snö Aragón Hills

Refugio de Respomuso — Hiking in Pyrenees
    • Punta del Pacino is one of the finest viewpoints in Valle de Tena, and today we climb it. The trail works its way up through mountain meadows and open slopes, with the panorama widening as we gain height: peaks, reservoirs, and villages spread out below. The summit delivers a full 360-degree view across the valley, taking in the ranges around Formigal and Sallent de Gállego. Plenty of time up top for photos and a snack before we drop back down the same way. A satisfying climb with a big reward, then back to the hotel to relax over dinner.

      Meals: Breakfast, dinner
      Distance: 12 km (7.5 mi)
      Elevation: +625 m (+2,051 ft)
      Accommodation: Hotel Snö Aragón Hills

Punta del Pacino — Hiking in Pyrenees
    • For our final hike, we head up into the mountains above the Balneario de Panticosa to reach the Ibones de Bachimaña. The trail is rugged from the start, climbing past waterfalls and rocky slopes until the high-mountain world opens up around us. Waiting at the top is a cluster of glacial lakes ringed by big, imposing peaks, the kind of place where you understand just how wild this part of the Pyrenees really is. It’s a demanding day, but the water, the silence, and the views make it the right way to finish a week in Valle de Tena. Back at the hotel, we celebrate over dinner.

      Meals: Breakfast, dinner
      Distance: 12 km (7.5 mi)
      Elevation: +830 m (+2,723 ft)
Accommodation: Hotel Snö Aragón Hills, Formigal

Ibones de Bachimaña — Hiking in Pyrenees
    • Take your time over a last breakfast at the hotel, then check out and hop on the transfer back to Zaragoza. From there, high-speed trains run to Madrid, Barcelona, and beyond, so onward travel is easy. A relaxed end to a week of Pyrenean trails, likely with sore legs and plenty of photos to show for it.

      Meals: Breakfast
