  • Discover the snow-blanketed Gunks region on a pair of snowshoes and admire the expansive icy landscapes its parks and preserves offer. Snowshoe across the snow-laden carriage roads and trails of the Mohonk Preserve, Minnewaska State Park, and the dramatic Catskills as your guide navigates you across the stunning winter wonderland.

    • 57hours is committed to providing safe outdoor adventure experiences. We require all guides using our platform to have a COVID-19 safety plan and to make the details of that plan accessible to travelers. In most cases, group sizes will be reduced, guides will avoid overcrowded locations, and other safety measures will be met depending on the location and activity.

We also expect clients to respect local regulations and take measures to protect themselves, guides and the communities they’re travelling to. For more information on COVID-19 measures in the Gunks region, NY, please refer to the New York State website and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website.

Please contact us if you have any questions or require further information. We are happy to provide you with the most up-to-date information!

To enjoy the cross-country skiing adventures, you’ll need to have decent cardiovascular fitness levels. You’ll be cross-country skiing on varied terrain for several hours at a time. If you’re a beginner, you’ll stay on relatively flat and short low-altitude trails, and your guide will teach you basic cross-country techniques while you’re enjoying the beauty of the backcountry. For intermediate and advanced cross-country skiers, the Gunks region also has plenty of red and black trails to enjoy.
