While hiking the hidden gems of Mont Blanc doesn’t require any special skills and isn’t technically challenging, a great level of fitness is still required. This isn’t a fully beginner-friendly tour, elevation changes are substantial and you’ll be hiking for 6 consecutive days.

You’ll be hiking around 10 km (6 mi) per day on average, for 6 days in a row, while gaining between 235-1,060 m (770-3,500 ft) of elevation.

Keep in mind that for group departures, your guide can always adjust the day hikes to be easier or harder depending on the group. If you have any health issues that you believe might impact your ability to complete this tour, please reach out before booking.

Instead, you’re based in one deluxe spot in Chamonix for the entire trip, and each day you head out on a different hike into the Mont Blanc massif, crossing France, Italy, and Switzerland. Group departures are perfect if you’re traveling solo, as a couple, or with a friend or two and you’re open to sharing the experience with others. Group sizes go up to 14 people, and honestly, some of the best parts of a trip like this happen around the dinner table with people you’ve just met on the trail! If you don’t have at least 4 people of your own to fill a private departure, this is also simply the more practical choice.

Private departures are ideal if you have your own group and want the full experience tailored to you. Your own chalet, your own dates, a guide entirely focused on your group. Hikes can be adjusted to your fitness levels, the pace is yours, and the week is built around what you want to get out of it. For families, groups of friends, or anyone who’d rather not compromise, this is the one. It takes a minimum of 4 people for a private tour to be arranged, with the maximum set at 8—but bigger groups can be accommodated as well, reach out!

This is a fitness trip first, a luxury trip second—don’t let the 5-star base fool you into thinking you’ll be lounging the whole day.

You’re hiking six of the eight days, averaging 10 km (6 mi) with up to 1,060 m (3,500 ft) of elevation gain on the bigger days. This isn’t a technical trip—no ropes, no exposure, no via ferrata—so the challenge is stamina and legs, not skill.

If you hike regularly and can handle consecutive big days without a rest day between them, you’ll be fine; if you’re newer to hiking or haven’t done back-to-back long days before, look at a shorter or easier trip instead—or, gather your people, and we can fully customize a private tour for you!

Group departures suit solo travelers, couples, and small groups who want a shared experience and don’t mind a set pace with some flexibility; private departures suit families or groups of four or more who want the itinerary built around their own pace and dates.

Group sizes and prices:

• • You can choose between open group departures & private departures.
  • For open group departures, the client-to-guide ratio is 7:1. With 8 or more people, there will be 2 guides. The minimum number of people needed for this tour to operate is 6, the maximum group size is set at 8 participants.
  • For private departures, 8 hikers max can be accommodated at the chalet. It takes a minimum of 4 people for a private departure. There will be one guide with you. In case you’re a bigger group, reach out—we’ll arrange a bigger chalet or multiple nearby chalets.
  • If you’re joining an open group departure, you’ll stay at Le Cristal de Jade, a 5-star residence with luxe, spacious, fully-equipped apartments for 2-6 people. If opting for a private departure, you and your group will have a chalet all to yourself.

Min. age requirements:

• • If you are older than 18, you’re good to go.
  • Minors younger than 18 may be permitted to join the hike on a case-by-case basis, but must be in the presence of a parent or legal guardian.

If your group has hikers under the age of 18, contact us prior to booking to make arrangements.

For open group departures, the price is based on twin-share apartments, but a single occupancy apartment can be arranged at an additional fee. You can add it to your booking at checkout.

Solo travelers are welcome to join, but securing a single occupancy apartment for themselves is mandatory—you’ll be able to add it to your booking at checkout.

To get to Chamonix, most people fly into Geneva International Airport (GVA). There will be two shuttles (included in the price) on the first and on the last day of the tour that will take you to Chamonix.

On Day 1, shuttles will depart from Geneva at 11 am and 2 pm towards Chamonix, you will be picked up in Arrivals Hall on the left side, next to the photo booth. On Day 8, shuttles taking you to the Geneva Airport will depart at 7:30 am and noon.

Once you get to Chamonix, you will meet your guide and your team at the 5-star Résidence Le Cristal de Jade at 6 pm on Day 1, or at your chalet if you’re joining as a private group.
