Travel and medical insurance available
  • This is a guided 4-day walk around the entire coastline of Formentera—the smallest of the Balearic Islands. We cover approximately 85 km (53 mi) in total, walking an average of 22 km (14 mi) per day across terrain that ranges from sea cliffs and rocky shores to pine forests and beach stretches. Each day begins and ends with a transfer, so you return to the same comfortable hotel every evening. Picnic lunches are carried daily, and the pace is shaped around the group—with plenty of stops for views, swims, and simply taking it all in.

    • We meet at Ibiza Port at the ticket office and take the morning ferry across to Formentera—the smallest of the Balearic Islands. After dropping our bags at the hotel, we set off from the island’s main port and begin tracing the coastline on foot. It’s a gentle introduction to the trail, a chance to settle into the rhythm of the walk and get the first proper feel of the island. In the evening, we transfer back to the hotel to rest up for the days ahead.

      Meals: Picnic lunch
Hiking: approximately 22 km (13.7 mi), 6-8 hours
      Elevation gain: 200-300 m (660-990 ft)
Accommodation: Family-run hotel with sea views

      summer formentera
    • Over the next two days, we transfer to our starting point each morning and continue walking our way around the island. The route shifts constantly—cliffside paths, sheltered coves, stretches of pine forest, and more open coastal terrain—and no two sections feel quite the same. We walk for around 6 to 8 hours per day including stops for lunch, swims, and views. Picnic lunches are carried with us and enjoyed wherever the trail demands it. In the late afternoon, we transfer back to the same central hotel, returning with tired legs and a growing sense of how much ground we’ve covered.

      Meals: Breakfast, picnic lunch
Hiking: approximately 22 km (13.7 mi), 6-8 hours
      Elevation gain: 200-300 m (660-990 ft)
Accommodation: Family-run hotel with sea views

      formentera beach walk
    • We transfer to the start of the final section and walk the last stretch to complete the full circuit of Formentera. The finish line arrives around 5 pm—a moment that tends to feel bigger than expected. After the celebration, we make our way to the evening ferry back to Ibiza, bringing an unforgettable four days on foot to a close.

      Meals: Breakfast, picnic lunch
Hiking: approximately 22 km (13.7 mi), 6-8 hours

    • To join this Formentera walking tour, great fitness is required. Over 4 days, you’ll walk approximately 85 km (53 mi) in total—averaging around 22 km (14 mi) per day—across terrain that includes sea cliffs, rocky shores, forest paths, and some steeper sections. Each walking day is between 6 and 8 hours including stops.

Before the trip, you should be comfortable walking 15–20 km (9–12 mi) in a day with 200–300 m (660–1,000 ft) of elevation change. It also helps to have completed at least one longer walk of 25–30 km (15–19 mi) so your body knows what a big day feels like. The more prepared you arrive, the more you’ll enjoy it—but the walk tends to get easier as the days pass and the rhythm settles in.
