  • This is the shorter and easier of the two options, ideal for first-time kayakers or anyone after an accessible taste of the Yasawas.

Over 7 days, we paddle about 46 km (28.6 mi) through the northern islands, alternating between double kayaks, snorkeling stops, and village visits in Navotua. Nights split between a hotel in Nadi, glamping-style bell tents on Tavewa Island, and a screened tent or island bure. Paddling days run 3 to 4 hours at the pace of the slowest paddler in the group, so no prior kayaking experience is required—just moderate fitness and confidence in the water.

    • Upon your arrival in Nadi, enjoy a complimentary transfer from the airport to our hotel. The trip briefing with our guide will take place at 8pm at the hotel and will last around an hour. If your flight arrives later, inform your guides in advance. All of your luggage can be transferred to our base on Tavewa Island.

      Accommodation: Hotel

      View on Yasawa Islands, Fiji
    • After an early breakfast, we will transfer to Denarau Marina for the 8:45am Yasawa Flyer, a catamaran, which will take us on a 5-hour journey to Tavewa Island. Upon arrival at the Blue Lagoon, we’ll transfer by small boat to our base on Tavewa. Our camp features standing bell tents and a dining hut.

Once there, our guide will provide watertight bags for personal gear, and any luggage you don’t need for kayaking can be stored in a locked shed. After familiarizing with the kayaks and gear, there will be a short paddling session and a lagoon excursion. The day will end with a beautiful sunset on the beach, followed by a delicious tropical dinner.

      Accommodation: Camping

    • Today, we’ll head out with our snorkeling gear and picnic lunch for a day of exploration in the Blue Lagoon. Our adventure will take us to the best coral reefs for snorkeling and stunning beaches to unwind on before returning to Tavewa. Expect to paddle around 10 km / 6.2 mi today.

In the evening, if the weather cooperates, we’ll gather for an island BBQ at our Tavewa Island base, enjoying the evening in true island style.

      Kayaks on Fiji beach
    • We’ll load up the expedition kayaks and paddle to Navotua village. With favorable tides, we’ll stop for lunch and swim at a beach with fringing reefs. After rounding Nacula Island, we’ll continue to Navotua, known for its warm hospitality. If the winds are strong, we’ll adjust our pace and switch to a boat for the remainder of the trip. Once we arrive, we’ll set up camp on a grassy site and immerse ourselves in the authentic atmosphere of island village life.

      Enjoying after kayaking
    • Today’s paddle takes us to Sawa-i-Lau, a stunning island with dramatic limestone peaks and saltwater caves. In the afternoon, we will enjoy local entertainment, followed by an invitation to join the village chief for a social kava (a non-alcoholic drink with mild numbing effects) party.

    • There are two itineraries to consider here, and matching yourself to the right one makes all the difference in how much you enjoy the water. Check the breakdown below to see which itinerary fits your experience and stamina.

To join the 7-Day Fiji Kayaking Tour, you should:

        • Have moderate fitness, comparable to brisk walking or cycling
        • Be a confident swimmer—prior paddling experience helps but isn’t required
        • Be comfortable paddling 3 to 4 hours a day, up to 15 km (9.3 mi)
        • Expect to paddle mostly in double kayaks, at the pace of the slowest paddler in the group

To join the 9-Day Fiji Kayaking Expedition, you should:

        • Have high fitness levels and prior multi-day kayaking experience
        • Be comfortable paddling up to 20 km (12.4 mi) in a single day, including one open-water crossing with swell
        • Be ready for a full day of paddling if the wind picks up
        • Be a confident swimmer, comfortable with stretches of self-sufficient travel
    • 7-Day Fiji Kayak Tour — the easier, shorter option. Good for first-time kayakers or anyone after a relaxed mix of paddling, snorkeling, and village time. About 46 km (28.6 mi) of paddling total, mostly in double kayaks, at a gentle pace.

9-Day Fiji Kayak Expedition — the longer, more demanding option. Built for experienced paddlers with multi-day kayaking already under their belt. Covers about 90 km (55.9 mi), follows much of the same northern route, then pushes further south, finishing with a manta ray snorkel off Naviti Island.

If you’re unsure which to pick, it usually comes down to kayaking experience—choose the tour if this is your first multi-day paddle, and the expedition if you’ve done one before and want to go further.

    • Here’s a list of the equipment you need to bring:

      Essential items:

        • A wide brimmed hat for sun-protection

        • Sun-glasses with a cord and side flaps
        • Light weight rain jacket or spray jacket
        • Two long sleeve lightweight shirts (a synthetic shirt is highly recommended for sun protection while paddling and a separate camp shirt for mosquito protection in the evening)
        • Two or three T-shirts
        • A lycra sun top
        • One pair of light-weight, quick drying, full length trousers
        • Two pairs of shorts and swimwear

        • Sleeping sheet
        • Sleeping bag

        • Lightweight socks to wear with your running shoes
        • Small towel (a chamois towel is ideal, or a medium sized hand towel)

        • A small dry bag is good for holding things like a sun screen, glasses, etc.

        • Ear plugs

      Medical supplies:

Your guides will carry a comprehensive medical kit, but it’s your responsibility to bring enough of any specific medications you need. Additionally, we recommend you bring:
