Deposits

When booking a trip, you can either pay for it in full or reserve your spot with a 30% deposit. The remaining 70% of the trip price is to be paid 90 days prior to departure, at the latest.

Cancellations

After 48 hours, booking fees are non-refundable in all cases. You can choose one of 57hours’ flexibility options:

  • If canceled 90 or more days before departure, a 70% refund of the total trip price will be issued.
  • If canceled within 89 days of departure, no refund will be issued.

    • Welcome to Sarlat! Sarlat was once the capital of the Périgord, and it contains more medieval, Renaissance-era, and 17th-century buildings than any other city in southern France. You’ll join your guide at 6pm at the hotel for a welcome meeting followed by a nice dinner.

    • Day 2 begins with a transfer from Sarlat to the charming village of Daglan, nestled in the heart of the Dordogne countryside. From here, we’ll set out on a scenic hike through the lush, rolling hills, following trails that wind through picturesque landscapes, stone huts, dovecots, and washhouses. We’ll arrive in Bouzic, a quaint village where time seems to stand still, and soak up the tranquil atmosphere before continuing to the prestigious Chai de Moncalou, perched on a hilltop with panoramic views of the surrounding vineyards.

      We’ll climb the 125 steps of the panoramic tower, offering an exceptional view of the region. The hike continues at the winery, where we’ll have a guided wine tasting experience. Later on, we’re transferring back to Sarlat.

      Bouzic village
    • After breakfast, we’ll experience the town’s open-air market which offers a mind-boggling array of food. Then we’ll board our taxi and transfer to the cliffside village of La Roque Gageac, labelled as one of the most beautiful ones in France. We’ll follow the winding trails,
      take in the views of the Dordogne River and the historic châteaux that dot the landscape until we reach Vitrac, where a picnic awaits. Afterward, we’ll embark on a canoe trip, paddling along a picturesque stretch of the Dordogne River. Later on, we’re transferring back to Sarlat.

      Paddling on Dordogne
    • On Day 4, after breakfast, we’ll set off on a cycling journey through the lush Vézère Valley. We’ll pedal towards the quaint village of Marquay. From there, we’ll descend to the awe-inspiring Château de Puymartin, known for its striking architecture and captivating legends. Next, we’ll
      head to a local truffle farm and savour the unique flavors of this prized local delicacy, learning about the regions’ rich truffle-hunting traditions. We’ll visit the farm and then have lunch featuring truffle-flavored dishes.

      Afterward, we’ll loop back to Sarlat. We’ll gather for a heartfelt farewell dinner to celebrate the week’s adventures, and we’re going to say our goodbyes to the guide.

    • It’s the last day of this amazing Dordogne adventure. After breakfast, the whole group will transfer to the Bordeaux airport, and the Dordogne adventure comes to an end.

    • This Dordogne adventure with hiking, cycling, and kayaking is rated easy. A reasonable level of fitness is expected, and the hikes range from 6-12 km / 3.7-7.4 mi. For kayaking, you must be able to swim a short distance, immerse yourself in water, and wear a safety jacket and closed shoes.

      Dress comfortably and for the weather in clothes you can move in. We suggest bringing clothing appropriate for the season. Layers are best and don’t wear jeans.

    • On this Dordogne adventure, we’ll ride electric bikes with 2 rear and 1 front bag, front and rear lights, a mobile phone holder, a repair kit, and a lock. The model is Kalkhoff Endeavour 1.B Move with a Bosch battery autonomy of up to 100 km / 62 mi, depending on weight and usage. The bikes have a Shimano gear system and an E-comfort aluminium easy entry frame.

    • Group sizes and pricing

        • For this Dordogne adventure, the usual client-to-guide ratio is 8:1.
        • It takes a minimum of 4 people for this tour to operate. The maximum group size is set at 13 participants.

      Hiking, cycling, and kayaking in France can be arranged for larger groups. Contact us to make arrangements.

      Min. age requirements

        • If you are older than 18, you’re good to go.
        • Minors younger than 18 may be permitted to join the Dordogne adventure on a case-by-case basis, but must be in the presence of a parent or legal guardian.

    • The starting point of your Dordogne adventure is Sarlat. To get there, most people fly into Toulouse–Blagnac Airport (TLS) or Bordeaux–Mérignac Airport (BOD). From there, you can take public transport (a train or a bus), or rent a car to reach Sarlat.

      Once you’re there, you will meet your guide at 6pm in your hotel.
