Acknowledgement of risks and waiver agreement

Liability waivers are a standard part of all guided outdoor adventures. For this trip, acknowledging the risks and agreeing to sign the waiver is mandatory before the trip. This is required in order to join the adventure—so we ask you to check the box below if you agree with it.

You are required to bring a printed copy on the trip. If you have any questions, please reach out to us prior to booking or learn more about this in the Things to know (FAQ) section.

Cancellation policy

The percentages in the table above are of the full trip price, not of what you’ve paid at the time of booking.

Cancellations made within 48 hours of booking receive a full refund on all plans, including booking fees and insurance. After the 48-hour window, your refund depends on your selected protection plan and when you cancel. Core and Premium plans extend your cancellation rights beyond the Standard policy:

  • With Core, a covered reason gets you 75% of your trip cost back — even the day before you go.
  • With Premium, a covered reason gets you 100% of your trip cost back — and any other reason gets you 75%, right up to the day you leave.
What counts as a covered reason
  • Sudden illness or injury — yours, a travel companion’s, or an immediate family member’s, confirmed by a doctor
  • Death of a traveler or an immediate family member
  • A natural disaster affecting your destination or your departure point
  • A government travel advisory against travel to your destination

Changing your mind isn’t a covered reason. Premium is the only plan that covers that. Documentation is required for all insurance claims.

Everything the travel insurance covers

Both plans include travel insurance through Redpoint Travel Protection. Core insures 75% of your trip cost; Premium insures 100%.

Maximum per person:

  • Trip cancellation — up to 100% of your trip cost
  • Cancel for any reason — up to 75% of your trip cost (Premium only)
  • Trip interruption — 150% of the trip cost limit
  • Trip delay — $200 a day, $1,000 max
  • Itinerary change — $250
  • Single occupancy supplement — up to 100% of trip cost
  • Missed connection — $1,000
  • Travel inconvenience — $250 each, $750 max
  • Pet return — $1,000 per pet
  • Baggage and personal effects — $2,500, max $300 an item
  • Baggage delay — $600, after 12 hours
  • Baggage delivery — $100 per trip
  • Emergency medical expenses — $100,000
  • Medical evacuation and repatriation — up to $1,000,000

These are maximums. What a claim actually pays depends on what you can document and on the policy’s exclusions — pre-existing conditions and undeclared activities among them. We’ll send the full policy wording with your confirmation.

  • For all the get-er-done riders out there looking to truly push their limits, this itinerary will have you tackling the highlights of the famous Wapta Traverse in only 3 days. Join a seasoned local guide on a faster-paced tour of one of the most iconic ski traverses in Canada.

    • We’ll meet at the Lake Louise Alpine Centre for introductions, a gear check, and group packing before setting out for our adventure. By mid-morning, we’ll depart for the Bow Lake trailhead and begin our ski toward Bow Hut, where we’ll stop for lunch surrounded by spectacular alpine scenery. In the afternoon, we continue across the shimmering expanse of the icefield toward Balfour Hut, nestled beneath the imposing slopes of Mt. Balfour. Here, we’ll settle in for the night, sharing stories and soaking up the quiet beauty of the high mountains.

      Accommodation: Balfour Hut

Tourers descending down a steep slope on the Wapta Traverse.
    • Today we ascend the impressive Balfour Glacier, making our way up and over the Balfour High Col—the most exhilarating section of the traverse. If weather allows, we’ll have the chance to summit Mt. Balfour or enjoy some exciting side ski runs along the route. After taking in the sweeping alpine views, we continue our journey across the vast icefield to the remote Scott Duncan Hut, where we’ll spend the night surrounded by the quiet grandeur of the mountains.

      Accommodation: Scott Duncan Hut

Tourers celebrating a successful ascent up Mt. Balfour on the Wapta Traverse.
    • On our final day, we ski out from the Scott Duncan Hut toward the Great Divide Lodge, descending from the high alpine into the valley below. It’s a rewarding finish to an unforgettable journey—gliding through wide-open snowfields and forested terrain as we make our way back to civilization, carrying with us the memories of an incredible mountain adventure.
