Cancellation policy

The percentages in the table above are of the full trip price, not of what you’ve paid at the time of booking.

Cancellations made within 48 hours of booking receive a full refund on all plans, including booking fees and insurance. After the 48-hour window, your refund depends on your selected protection plan and when you cancel. Core and Premium plans extend your cancellation rights beyond the Standard policy:

  • With Core, a covered reason gets you 75% of your trip cost back — even the day before you go.
  • With Premium, a covered reason gets you 100% of your trip cost back — and any other reason gets you 75%, right up to the day you leave.
What counts as a covered reason
  • Sudden illness or injury — yours, a travel companion’s, or an immediate family member’s, confirmed by a doctor
  • Death of a traveler or an immediate family member
  • A natural disaster affecting your destination or your departure point
  • A government travel advisory against travel to your destination

Changing your mind isn’t a covered reason. Premium is the only plan that covers that. Documentation is required for all insurance claims.

Everything the travel insurance covers

Both plans include travel insurance through Redpoint Travel Protection. Core insures 75% of your trip cost; Premium insures 100%.

Maximum per person:

  • Trip cancellation — up to 100% of your trip cost
  • Cancel for any reason — up to 75% of your trip cost (Premium only)
  • Trip interruption — 150% of the trip cost limit
  • Trip delay — $200 a day, $1,000 max
  • Itinerary change — $250
  • Single occupancy supplement — up to 100% of trip cost
  • Missed connection — $1,000
  • Travel inconvenience — $250 each, $750 max
  • Pet return — $1,000 per pet
  • Baggage and personal effects — $2,500, max $300 an item
  • Baggage delay — $600, after 12 hours
  • Baggage delivery — $100 per trip
  • Emergency medical expenses — $100,000
  • Medical evacuation and repatriation — up to $1,000,000

These are maximums. What a claim actually pays depends on what you can document and on the policy’s exclusions — pre-existing conditions and undeclared activities among them. We’ll send the full policy wording with your confirmation.

  • This 12-day ski safari follows the famous Powder Highway through the snow belts of western Canada, from the Rockies to the Purcell, Selkirk, and Monashee ranges. Starting and ending in Calgary, we drive a big loop through British Columbia, skiing resorts and backcountry zones along the way, including Fernie, Kimberley, Whitewater, Revelstoke, and Rogers Pass. Most days mix lift access with backcountry touring, guided by an ACMG-certified guide who knows where the best snow hides. The trip is designed for intermediate to advanced ski tourers and splitboarders. Hotels and lodges, breakfasts, ground transportation, avalanche safety training, and avalanche gear rentals are all included.

    • Arrive in Calgary, where your guide will pick everyone up at the airport. From the prairies, we hit the Powder Highway and head southwest into the Canadian Rockies, aiming for Fernie, a small ski town in BC’s Elk Valley. We check in and get a good night’s sleep before the skiing begins.

      Fernie street in Canada
    • We kick things off at Fernie Alpine Resort. A few laps warm up the legs, then we ride to the top and head past the ropes into the backcountry of the Lizard Range, to powder stashes usually known only to a few locals.

      Accommodation: Hotel or lodge

Two ski tourers climb a steep snow slope toward rocky, snow-covered peaks under hazy blue sky in British Columbia

      Accommodation: Hotel or lodge

Skier in a blue jacket descends a powder slope, leaving winding tracks below snowy rocky peaks in British Columbia

      Meals: Breakfast
      Accommodation: Hotel or lodge

Three mountaineers in harnesses and helmets stand on a snow ridge facing a rocky, snow-covered peak in British Columbia
    • Next up is Whitewater, a ski hill in the Selkirk Mountains just outside Nelson, well known for its deep, dry snow and great tree skiing. We ski the resort and the surrounding backcountry, depending on conditions.

      Meals: Breakfast
      Accommodation: Hotel or lodge

Skier in helmet and goggles carving through deep powder beside snow-covered evergreen trees in British Columbia
    • After four days on skis, we give our legs a break with a scenic drive north to Revelstoke, one of the best-known ski towns on the Powder Highway.

      Meals: Breakfast
      Accommodation: Hotel or lodge

      Apres ski in Canada
    • We spend the day at Revelstoke Mountain Resort, home to the most lift-served vertical in North America (1,713 m / 5,620 ft), skiing the resort and the backcountry right off it.

      Meals: Breakfast
      Accommodation: Hotel or lodge

Snowboarder in orange jacket and green helmet riding a sunlit snow slope below a steep snowy peak in British Columbia

    • In order to join this Powder Highway ski safari, good fitness is required as well as intermediate to advanced backcountry skiing or splitboarding experience. Most days combine resort laps with backcountry touring, and some days, like Kootenay Pass and Rogers Pass, are fully human-powered.

Keep in mind that you’ll be skiing for 10 out of 12 days, so arriving in good shape helps. Snow, weather, and highway closures may change the plan, and your guide will adjust each day to the conditions and the group.

    • This trip isn’t the right fit for first-time skiers. The Powder Highway ski safari is designed for intermediate to advanced backcountry skiers and splitboarders. Most days combine resort skiing with backcountry touring in ungroomed, off-piste terrain, so you’ll need to be comfortable skiing a wide range of slopes and snow conditions.
