  • Spend 10 days exploring some of the most spectacular landscapes that the Venetian Alps have to offer! Uncover Italy’s alpine wonderland by traveling from town to town and tackling some of the finest trails in northeast Italy’s Dolomites area. Off the trails, taste local delicacies, sample world-famous wines, partake in traditional festivals, and explore North Italy’s numerous ancient landmarks.

    • Meet your guide and group in Conegliano, Italy, at 3 pm. Afterward, you’ll be transferred to your accommodation in Vittorio Veneto, where you’ll check in and have a welcome meeting. Embark on a guided tour of Serravale, the medieval section of the Vittorio Veneto once described by Ernest Hemingway in “A Farewell to Arms”, before enjoying a spritz cocktail before dinner.

    • Check out of your accommodation in Vittorio Veneto and take your trusty van to Cansiglio. Enjoy a circular hike of the Cansiglio Ring and a visit to the local ethnographic museum. Cap the day off at a local restaurant serving traditional specialties from the Alps.

    • Enjoy a circular hike of Mezzomiglio, known as one of the most beautiful climbs of the Alpago. Take in the spectacular views of Santa Croce lake and pay a visit to a malga, an alpine hut famed for its cheese-making tradition, and enjoy a special lunch. Afterward, if you’re in the mood, enjoy an optional visit to the serene Vallorch village.
      Overnight: Cansiglio

    • Check out and get transferred to Val Salatis. The day’s hike will follow a section of the iconic Alta Via no. 6 in the Dolomites. Follow the trail to Pian de le Stele, an old-timey rock cabin on a beautiful meadow, where you’ll have a special barbecue lunch. Enjoy an optional extension to Rifugio Semenza, or choose to return to your hotel for dinner.
      Overnight: Val Salatis

    • Ride to the Santa Croce Lake area. You’ll enjoy a scenic lakeside hike, with plenty of free time to appreciate the sounds, smells, and views, and maybe even try some water activities. When you’re done, get transferred to Coi de Pera, check in to your accommodations and enjoy an optional graffiti tour before dinner.

    • Continue to Nevegal, where you’ll do a circular hike along the Col Visentin trail. Get ready to touch the sky, as you’ll reach the top of a mountain and enjoy breathtaking views of the Valbelluna and the Dolomites skyline. Head back down to Belluno for a city tour, a delicious dinner, and maybe even a night out.

    • Check out and get transferred to Valmorel for the Malghe circular trek. Today, you’ll hike the homeland of Dino Buzzati, the famous author of “The Tartar Steppe”. Then, take some time to rest and relax before the optional afternoon hike to the layered rock formations of the Brent de l’Art. Enjoy a standard dinner at the hotel, or choose to join the local Melere feasts!
      Overnight: Coi de Pera

    • Travel to Mel for a short hike to the Castello di Zumelle. Have a delicious picnic lunch by the Piave River, at Cesana beach. Get transferred to the town of Feltre, check in, and enjoy a guided tour with dinner included. In the evening, you’ll have plenty of free time to enjoy the Palio di Feltre festivities and fireworks at midnight.

    • Check out and get transferred to Valdobbiadene. After a short hike through the Prosecco vineyards, recently added to the list of UNESCO world heritage sites, you’ll visit a winery and taste Prosecco, Italy’s answer to Champagne. Once you’ve had your fill, ride to the Cison di Valmarino and check in. Then, visit the craft fair, enjoy a farewell dinner, and spend your final night in Italy in a castle!

    • Check out after breakfast. Your guide will arrange for your transfer to the Conegliano railway station by 11 am. Arrivederci and see you again.

    • This tour is meant for hikers with prior multi-day hiking experience and decent fitness levels. You will be hiking for 8 full days, covering 5-10 miles (8-16 km) a day with low-to-medium elevation and occasionally challenging terrain. Keep in mind, the weather in summer can be very hot and you’ll also be packing a daypack filled with water and other things you’ll need throughout the day.

    • Here’s a list of the equipment you need to bring:

        • Day pack large enough to carry all the items listed (around a 25-40L bag)
        • Hiking poles — optional
        • Water bottle or hydration bladder (2L capacity)
        • Durable, quality hiking boots or shoes
        • Comfortable, breathable sportswear for everyday hikes
        • Spare clothes for layering and 8 days of hiking
        • Waterproof rain jacket
        • Sunhat
        • Toiletries (sunscreen, hand sanitizer, bug spray, toilet paper, etc.)
        • Headlamp or flashlight
        • Sunglasses
        • Camera — optional (but recommended)

      Dress comfortably and for the weather in clothes you can move in. We suggest bringing clothing appropriate for the season.

    • Group sizes and prices:

        • For this group adventure, the usual guest-to-guide ratio is 8:1. The cost does not decrease as the group grows. 

      Hiking the Venetian Alps can be arranged for larger groups. Contact us to make arrangements.

      Min. age requirements:

        • If you are older than 18, you’re good to go.
        • Minors younger than 18 may be permitted to join the hike on a case-by-case basis, but must be in the presence of a parent or legal guardian.

      If your group has hikers under the age of 18, contact us prior to booking to make arrangements.

    • To get to Conegliano, Italy, the starting point of this tour, most people fly into Venice Marco Polo Airport 1 hour away. From the airport, you can rent a car or take a shuttle service. Alternatively, you can take a bus or taxi to the city of Venice and a direct train to Conegliano.

      You will meet your guide at a pre-determined location at 3 pm for transfer to Vittorio Veneto, where you will check in and start your tour.
