Let an experienced local guide take you on a 9-15 mile (15-25 km) run in some of the greatest mountain trails in the world. Your guides will pick you up at your accommodation, help you choose a trip that’s ideal for your skill level, and take you straight to the trails. Get ready for a morning or afternoon of unforgettable outdoor recreation!

In most cases, group sizes will be reduced, guides will avoid overcrowded locations, and other safety measures will be met depending on the location and activity.

    • The best thing about trail running in the Guadarrama Mountains is that there are incredible options for all skill levels. However, trail running is inherently a physically demanding activity, so even the easiest routes require a decent level of fitness. The beginner routes are simple and relatively flat runs, while the more advanced routes are longer, include more inclines and more complex terrain. You will be running through varied terrain for approximately 3-4 hours. Your guide will make sure that the running pace is adapted to your individual capabilities.

    • Here’s a list of the equipment you need to bring:

        • Light running daypack
        • Hiking poles — optional
        • Water bottle or hydration bladder (2L capacity)
        • Light snacks/energy bars
        • Trail running shoes
        • Trail running clothing
        • Spare clothes for layering
        • Sun hat
        • Dry/casual sportswear and shoes to change into after running
        • Waterproof and windproof rain jacket
        • Toiletries (sunscreen, hand sanitizer, bug spray, toilet paper, etc.)
        • Sports sunglasses
        • Camera — optional (but recommended)

      Dress comfortably and for the weather in clothes you can move in. We suggest bringing clothing appropriate for the season. Layers are best and don’t wear jeans.

    • Group sizes and prices:

        • For this adventure, the usual client-to-guide ratio is 4:1.
        • The cost per person decreases as the group grows, so it’s the perfect opportunity to hike with friends and family!

      Trail running in Guadarrama can be arranged for larger groups. Contact us to make arrangements.

      Min. age requirements:

        • If you are older than 18, you’re good to go.
        • Minors younger than 18 may be permitted to join the hike on a case-by-case basis, but must be in the presence of a parent or legal guardian.
        • The tour isn’t suitable for children under 10 years old.

      If your group has trail runners under the age of 18, contact us prior to booking to make arrangements.

    • To get to the Guadarrama National Park, most people fly into Madrid–Barajas Airport near Madrid. From there, you can take a cab, train, bus or ride the metro to Madrid. The park is about an hour away from Madrid.

      Once you and your guide agree on the details of your itinerary, your guide will suggest the best place to meet, whether that’s at Hotel Abba, your hotel or accommodation in Madrid, or a predetermined location. The guide will choose the appropriate terrain dependent on conditions and the ability of the group.
