Meet the group in St. Anton for a dedicated half-day ski touring skills workshop. We’ll refresh essential techniques, check your gear, and warm up your legs on a short tour, so everyone starts the traverse feeling confident and well prepared. The afternoon is yours to enjoy: pick up any last-minute essentials, unwind in the pool and sauna, or treat yourself to a pre-tour massage.

Our hut-to-hut adventure begins. We depart early from St. Anton to Partenen in the Montafon Valley. From there, the Vermuntbahn cable car and a thrilling tunnel bus ride carry us up to Bielerhöhe at 2,032 m (6,667 ft), where the touring starts. After dropping our bags at the overnight lodge, we set out with light packs to explore one of the region’s breathtaking valleys, such as Krommertal or Klostertal, depending on conditions, with highlights including Verhuptsspitze and the stunning Schneeglocke summit. This first day is all about building confidence, with wide-open terrain, gentle gradients, and enjoyable descents to practice efficient skinning, transitions, and kick turns.

We venture deeper into the Silvretta today, travelling through spectacular glacier scenery toward the historic Wiesbadenerhütte. Skinning beneath the imposing north face of Piz Buin (3,312 m / 10,866 ft), the highest peak in the Silvretta, we cross high mountain passes and enjoy memorable descents before reaching our next mountain hut. It’s a rewarding introduction to classic Silvretta terrain, and once we arrive, there’s time to relax and soak up the alpine setting.

Today is one of the highlights of the traverse as we cross from Austria into Switzerland through the heart of the Silvretta Alps. We travel beneath towering peaks, cross glaciated terrain, and enjoy long scenic descents before arriving at the welcoming Jamtalhütte, one of the most famous ski touring huts in the Alps and a favorite stop for generations of mountaineers.

Our last hut traverse day in this spectacular Silvretta region brings more classic ski touring as we make our way toward the iconic Heidelberger Hütte. Expect a rewarding day combining scenic climbs, flowing descents, and breathtaking alpine panoramas. The Heidelberger Hütte provides the perfect setting for our final evening together, where we celebrate an unforgettable hut-to-hut journey with great company and memories that will last long after the tour has ended.

Enjoy one final morning ski tour from the Heidelberger Hütte before making the final descent into Ischgl, one of the Alps’ most famous ski resorts. Depending on conditions, we’ll often squeeze in one last rewarding climb and descent before leaving the high mountains behind. After a well-earned coffee or celebratory drink in Ischgl, we return to St. Anton, bringing an unforgettable week of hut-to-hut ski touring to a close.

To get to St. Anton, the starting point of the adventure, most people fly into Zurich Airport (ZRH). There is a direct train line connecting Zurich and St. Anton, so we suggest taking a train ride from the main railway station in Zurich. This shuttle will take you around 2 hours.
A single occupancy room is not available on this Silvretta ski touring adventure as you’ll be spending your nights in shared dorms in huts.
