  • For a short and sweet hut-to-hut adventure—with a stunning mountain lodge with a spa for our first night—there’s no better choice than this trip in the spectacular Silvretta Alps. Led by an experienced guide, we’ll depart from Bludenz and make our way through the Silvretta Alps, to a mountain lodge and to a cozy hut. This is is also where we’ll also eat our breakfasts and dinners—included in this adventure! Join our 3-day ski adventure and embrace the ultimate skiing freedom!

    • We’ll depart early after breakfast—whether from Bludenz or St. Anton—taking a taxi to Partenen in the Montafon Valley. From there, the Vermuntbahn cable car and a thrilling tunnel bus ride carry us up to Bielerhöhe at 2,032 m (6,667 ft), where our alpine adventure begins. After dropping our bags at the Piz Buin Lodge, we set out to explore either the stunning Krommertal Valley or the Klostertal Valley, conditions depending, with potential highlights including the Verhuptsspitze or the striking Schneeglocke summit.

    • On our final day, we set out on a short morning tour from Wiesbadener Hut to a nearby peak on the Swiss border, crossing between two countries before heading back to Bielerhöhe. From there, we take the bus, gondola, and taxi to Bludenz, arriving by mid-afternoon—perfect timing to catch departure flights from Zurich or stay on for another night to enjoy a relaxed dinner in town.

    • Included:

        • An experienced UIAGM Mountain Guide with extensive knowledge of the area
        • 3 or 6 days of guided ski touring, depending on your chosen itinerary
        • Accommodation
          • 2 nights for the 3-day tour — one night in Piz Buin Mountain Lodge (if available, if not an alternative will be found) and one night in Wiesbadener Hütte
          • 4 nights for the 6-day tour in remote mountain huts, as in the itinerary
        • All breakfasts and dinners, as in the itinerary

      Add-ons (can be arranged at an additional cost, let us know if interested):

        • Optional touring days in St. Anton before the tour
        • Accommodation in St. Anton or Bludenz before and after the tour

      Not included:

        • Transportation to St. Anton or Bludenz (depending on your starting point)
        • Technical backcountry ski touring equipment
        • Taxi transfers and lift pass for Silvretta
        • Lunches (packed meals can be bought at the huts) and drinks
        • Insurance — mandatory, available to add at checkout

    • The 3-day itinerary welcomes strong intermediate to advanced skiers as well as backcountry skiers who want to try out multi-day ski touring. If you’re joining the 6-day hut-to-hut ski touring adventure, some experience is also required, though first-time hut-to-hut ski tourers are also welcome!

      In general, some backcountry skiing experience and good fitness are a must, and you have to be comfortable managing 4-6 hours touring days with around 800 m (2,620 ft) of vertical gain.

    • For technical backcountry ski touring gear, you will need to bring:

        • Off-piste skis (100mm underfoot) with skins (can be rented)
        • Touring boots and poles (can be rented)
        • Avalanche safety equipment (can be rented):
          • Digital, 3-antenna avalanche transceiver or beacon
          • Lightweight snow shovel
          • Avalanche probe

      For personal items, you will need to bring:

        • Helmet
        • Ski goggles
        • Gloves and hat
        • Wind and waterproof shell jacket with hood (Gore-Tex recommended)
        • Ski pants (Gore-Tex recommended)
        • Down jacket or vest
        • Synthetic or wool base layers, underwear and socks
        • One triple-action locking carabiner or two conventional locking carabiners
        • Repair kit and Leatherman for your equipment (can be shared between several people)
        • Water bottle (1L capacity)
        • Thermos for a warm beverage — optional
        • Mini first aid kit
        • Sunscreen
        • Backpack with ski-carry straps large enough to carry all items listed (around a 30L capacity)
        • Camera — optional
    • All mandatory gear can be rented if you don’t have your own. You can rent:

        • Avalanche safety pack, including backpack, beacon, shovel and probe from your guiding service for an additional fee
        • Alpine touring or telemark skis, touring boots and poles can be rented from various ski rental places in Bludenz/St. Anton.

      Ski rental locations are in Bludenz/St. Anton and should be picked up the night prior to your outing. If you need to rent gear, let us know and we can help make arrangements.

    • Group sizes and pricing

        • For this Silvretta ski touring adventure, the usual client-to-guide ratio is 7:1. 
        • It takes a minimum of 4 people for this tour to operate. The maximum group size is set at 7 participants.

      Silvretta ski touring adventures can be arranged for larger groups. Contact us to make arrangements.

      Min. age requirements

        • If you are older than 18, you’re good to go.
        • Minors older than 14 may be permitted to join the Silvretta ski touring adventure on a case-by-case basis, but must be in the presence of a parent or legal guardian.

      If your group has participants under the age of 18, contact us prior to booking to make arrangements.

    • To get to Bludenz (for the 3-day tour) or St. Anton (for the 5-day tour), the starting point of the adventure, most people fly into Zurich Airport. There is a direct train line connecting Zurich and Bludenz, so we suggest taking a train ride from the main railway station in Zurich. This shuttle will take you around 2 hours.
