  • This 4-day ski touring adventure in the Silvretta Alps is perfect for beginners looking for a gentle introduction to hut-to-hut touring. Guided by an experienced UIAGM mountain guide, we’ll explore wide alpine valleys, serene glaciers, and high passes with breathtaking views of peaks like Piz Buin! Combining manageable skiing, cozy alpine lodges, and peaceful scenery, it’s an ideal escape for anyone seeking adventure, fresh air, and tranquility away from crowded resorts.

    • We meet you in St. Anton for a dedicated half-day ski touring skills workshop. We’ll refresh essential techniques, check your gear, and warm up on a short tour together, so everyone starts the traverse feeling confident and well prepared. The afternoon is yours to enjoy: pick up any last-minute essentials, unwind in a pool or sauna, or treat yourself to a pre-tour massage. We come back together for an early social dinner with the group before retiring for the night.

      Two happy skiers in Silvretta.
    • Our hut-to-hut adventure begins. We depart early after breakfast from St. Anton to Partenen in the Montafon Valley. From there, the Vermuntbahn cable car and a thrilling tunnel bus ride carry us up to Bielerhöhe at 2,032 m (6,667 ft), where the touring starts. After dropping our bags at the overnight lodge, we set out with light packs to explore one of the region’s breathtaking valleys, such as Krommertal or Klostertal, depending on conditions, with highlights including Verhuptsspitze and the stunning Schneeglocke summit. This first day is all about building confidence, with wide-open terrain, gentle gradients, and enjoyable descents to practice efficient skinning, transitions, and kick turns. Back at the Madlenerhaus, we settle in for a hearty alpine dinner before a briefing on the days ahead.

      Meals: Breakfast, dinner (three-course)

Skinning beneath the imposing north face of Piz Buin (3,312 m/10,866 ft), the highest peak in the Silvretta, we cross high mountain passes and enjoy memorable descents before reaching our next mountain hut. It’s a rewarding introduction to classic Silvretta terrain, and once we arrive, there’s time to relax and soak up the alpine setting before another excellent mountain dinner.

There are a variety of route options today, with objectives such as the Egghorn and, if conditions allow, tours beneath or toward famous peaks including Piz Buin or Dreiländerspitze. After our final descent, we return to Bielerhöhe before retracing our route through the spectacular Vermunt tunnel, followed by the gondola and taxi transfer through the Montafon Valley. We arrive back in the valley by mid-afternoon, leaving plenty of time for an evening flight from Zurich or Innsbruck.
