  • Three extra days make this the full picture. The 11-day private tour adds Mrežnica River kayaking, a day in Split, and a visit to the medieval walled town of Ston to an itinerary that already covers Plitvice, Velebit, the Zrmanja Canyon, Krka, and the Cetina River. For groups who want to see Croatia properly, this is the one.

    • We start in Zagreb, Croatia’s lively capital. After a private airport transfer and a short briefing about the days ahead, we spend the afternoon on a walking tour through the historic upper town—hidden courtyards, old architecture, and a first real taste of what Croatia is all about. By early evening, we’re on the road toward the Plitvice region, where we’ll be based for the first two nights.

      Walking: Up to 4 hours
      Accommodation: Guesthouse (Plitvice area)

    • Before heading to Plitvice, we stop at the Mrežnica—one of Croatia’s cleanest and most beautiful rivers—for a half-day of kayaking through its series of small waterfalls and turquoise pools. Afterward, we visit the village of Rastoke, where the river splits into dozens of channels running past old stone mills.

      Meals: Breakfast
      Kayaking:
      Up to 4 hours
      Accommodation: Guesthouse (Plitvice area)

Two people going down a small cascade on river Mrežnica
    • A full day in Plitvice—boardwalk trails threading between cascading waterfalls and emerald lakes in one of Europe’s most celebrated UNESCO sites. For anyone with the appetite, the Barać Caves offer an underground detour that makes for a memorable contrast.

      Meals: Breakfast
      Hiking: up to 5 hours
      Accommodation: Guesthouse (Plitvice area)

Aerial view of the Plitvice Lakes National Park in Croatia
    • We head to Velebit for one of Croatia’s finest mountain hikes—the Premužić Trail, from Zavižan to Alan. The route crosses limestone ridges with sweeping views out to the Adriatic, through untouched forest and dramatic karst terrain. A long, rewarding day on some of the best trail in the country.

    • A big day of contrasts—we kayak the Zrmanja Canyon, with its sheer limestone walls and ice-clear water, then follow up with a scenic hike along the Krupa River. The two rivers couldn’t be more different, and both are worth every bit of the effort.

      Hiking: Up to 1.5 hours

    • We spend the day cycling through Krka National Park, one of the most beautiful river landscapes in Dalmatia. The route passes Skradinski Buk and Roški Slap—two of the park’s most impressive waterfalls—and offers views across to Visovac Island, where a Franciscan monastery has sat since the 15th century.

      Biking: Up to 6 hours
      Accommodation: Hotel (Split)

    • A day in one of the Mediterranean’s most remarkable cities. Split’s old town is built inside a Roman emperor’s palace—Diocletian’s Palace, constructed in the 4th century—and people still live within its ancient walls today. We take a guided walking tour to make sense of it all, then the rest of the day is yours.

A short walk, a bit of history, then onward.
