During the Laugavegur tour, you’ll experience the magic of living in rustic huts scattered along the trail. All of the mountain huts are heated, some have electricity and some have hot water.
All huts feature dormitory-style accommodations with shared rooms, typically consisting of bunk beds or long platforms with mattresses placed side by side. In some cases, mattresses are double-sized, requiring guests to share. Most groups stay together in a single large room, creating a communal atmosphere perfect for connecting with fellow travelers while immersing in the remote beauty of the highlands. Light sleepers are advised to bring earplugs and a sleep mask for added comfort. There are no power outlets in the huts so please bring a power bank!
Bathrooms are available at all huts and campsites. Showers are available everywhere as well (apart from Hrafntinnusker) for a fee of 1,000 ISK, with tokens purchasable by cash or card at the warden’s huts. Bathrooms are stocked with toilet paper and hand soap, but travelers should bring their own toiletries, including shampoo, towels, and washcloths.
