Experience majestic mountains, mossy meadows, and crystal clear lakes on mellow hiking trails carefully selected by your experienced local guide. And when you’ve had your fill of Iceland’s landscapes, head back to your classy mountain hut for a yoga session and some delicious local specialties.

  • Meet your guide at the BSI bus station in downtown Reykjavik and take the bus to Thorsmork, famous for being the final point of the Laugavegur guided hike. Arrive at Basar, your cozy mountain hut, around 11:00. After lunch, get ready for the day’s hike to the top of Valahnukur Mountain! This relatively easy trail provides excellent panoramic views of Thorsmork and the neighboring areas—it’s a great way to familiarize yourself with the ridge and see the other mountain huts and campsites. Afterward, descend to Husadalur and make your way to Langidalur, where you’ll get the opportunity to climb up to the famous Snorrariki cave. Follow the well-marked and accessible trail back to Basar and return just in time for dinner and an evening yoga session!

  • After a nutritious breakfast and some morning stretches, strap on your hiking boots and take on the very popular Tindfjallahringur trail. Tindfjallahringur, or the circle of Tindfjoll mountains, offers some postcard-worthy views. While it does have some steeper sections and narrow paths, the scenery is so good you’ll hardly notice, and the vistas you’ll experience make every bit of effort worthwhile. Return to Basar for dinner and some more evening yoga.

Saga is a great guide and the Wellness tour to Thorsmork was fantastic. I will definitely travel with Viking Women again!!

My time in Iceland was truly life-changing and I have to give a special thanks to Saga for leading such a memorable experience! From her passion for her country, the culture, and adventure in nature, every moment was truly inspiring. Now when I think of “happy places” my favorite memories are our hike up Reykjadalur Valley to the hot river and our walk on Sólheimajökull Glacier that ended with a meditation underneath the sun and a rainbow! I will absolutely be back to explore even further with Viking Women.

My sister and I had an amazing time in Iceland! Saga was a wonderful, knowledgeable guide and shared great stories that brought the landscape and experiences to life. We were also shown great local spots for food and drinks. Would definitely recommend her to anyone traveling to Iceland. We can’t wait to get back!
