COVID MEASURES IN CROATIA

57hours is committed to providing safe outdoor adventure experiences. We require all guides using our platform to have a COVID-19 safety plan and to make the details of that plan accessible to travelers. In most cases, group sizes will be reduced, guides will avoid overcrowded locations, and other safety measures will be met depending on the location and activity. We also expect clients to respect local regulations and take measures to protect themselves, their guides, and the communities they’re traveling to. The 57hours Investors Summit will be held from Tuesday, September 27th, 2022 to Friday, September 30th, 2022. There is an option to come later or leave earlier as all the islands have fast boat connections to the mainland. You can be back in Split in a matter of hours. The participation for this event is free of charge.

GETTING THERE AND MEETING LOCATION

To get to Split where your adventure begins, most people fly directly into Split Airport . We recommend arriving a day early as Split is a beautiful town and it’s worth spending a day there. Alternatively, you can fly to Zagreb or Dubrovnik. It takes about 6-7 hours to reach Split from Franjo Tudman Airport in Zagreb, and about 3 hours from Dubrovnik Airport . If you choose to fly to Zagreb, you can hop in the car with us and drive to Split on the morning of the 27th and then back to Zagreb on the 30th. Let us know if you need help with booking flights, hotels, or anything else.

Before and after you board the boat, you can explore the local restaurant scene with your group. Your gudes will give you recommendations for the best local restaurants and bistros in the area. WHERE WILL WE BE STAYING?

You’ll be staying on a Deluxe MV Fantazija . The elegant two mast motor yacht is 42.7 m/140 ft long and 8.8 m/29 ft wide. The ship has 19 comfortable guest cabins with shower/WC and air conditioning. The spacious and light flooded salon with a bar provides a welcoming atmosphere. High quality lounge furniture on the ships decks and a jacuzzi provide plenty of space for everyone to get comfortable during the cruise. The swimming platform at the stern offers the guests effortless access to the Adriatic sea for refreshing swim breaks.

WHAT ARE THE CABINS LIKE?

There are 19 cabins on the sailboat: 11 on the upper deck: 4 twin/double 3 double 4 on the main deck with double bed 8 on the lower deck: 6 double/twin 2 double beds with 3 rd bed possibility Each cabin includes and en-suite bathroom with a tiled shower cabin, wash basin & toilet. After registering, you’ll have access to the private group where you can link up with other attendees and find a roommate.

WHAT WILL THE WEATHER BE LIKE?

Average weather in October in Split (Split-Dalmatia County) is still warm and ideal for outdoor activities. The average minimum temperature (usually during the night) is 14.0°C (57.2°F). You can expect very pleasant temperatures during the day as the average maximum daytime temperature lies around 20.0°C (68°F). If you enjoy looking at a blue sky and love the sun than this is a great time to go to Split with 193 hours of sun! The amount of rain in October is normal with an average of 82mm (3.2in). With a water temperature of around 19.0°C (66.2°F), this is a great month to swim so bring your swimwear. In case the weather does not cooperate, your guide will know the correct course of action to take. Whether that’s shifting to a more favorable location or postponing until conditions approve, your guide will know just what to do. In Dalmatia, there are plenty of backup options for rainy days. Explore the local heritage sites, go wine tasting, or simply relax for the day. In the event of predictably bad weather, you will be contacted prior to the trip to discuss suitable alternatives.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?

Here’s what you’ll need: A backpack for daily outdoor activities Comfortable riding or athletic clothing, preferably moisture-wicking or synthetic material Spare clothes Evening wear for dinner parties Beachware and a bathing suit Sneakers or sport shoes Baseball cap (shadow cap) Sunscreen (minimum SPF 30) Light rain jacket Sunglasses Water bottle or hydration bladder Biking gloves and hiking poles are optional but recommended Toiletries (hand sanitizer, bug spray, toilet paper, etc.) Dress comfortably and for the weather in clothes you can move in. We suggest bringing clothing appropriate for the season.

HOW FIT DO I NEED TO BE?

Over three days, you will sail, mountain bike, kayak, climb and hike. Depending on your sense of adventure, you’ll explore different trails in the area under the guidance of expert local guides. The best part? No prior experience is necessary! The guides will make sure you are always doing something interesting and new, tailored to your skill level. Still, if you have some experience, and want to kick it up a notch, there are plenty of options! After booking, your guide will determine the group’s skill level and capabilities and tailor the days to your specific abilities. There are two guides, so the group can split into beginners and a more experienced group so that everybody can have fun.

Adventuring wonders of Central Dalmatia

VIS

This Adriatic pearl is known for its rich history, wines, and the Blue Cave located just 5 nautical miles away. This cerulean natural wonder is created by the sunlight reflecting off of the white seabed and illuminating the mesmerizing water through the opening at the vault of the cave.

For years, this island served as one of the most important military bases in Yugoslavia. Explore the island’s underground tunnels and hike to Tito’s Cave where Tito was ‘hiding’ out and working from during World War II.

If you’re not much of a history buff, go for a bike ride along the winding roads and dirt trails from Komiža to the town of Vis. Enjoy rapidly changing landscapes, breathe in the fresh sea air and and in the evening, meet your group at one of the most exclusive restaurants on the island.

HVAR

Hvar is considered one of the most beautiful islands in the world and it is the place to be for all-around outdoor adventures!

If you’re an MTB aficionado, ride the trail from the town of Hvar, through Brusje, Starigrad, Dol, Vrbonj, and Vrboska to Jelsa—a total of 40 km/ 25 miles.

If you want to spend the day at the sea, join a kayak tour around Pakleni Islands, a gorgeous archipelago of rocky islets. There will be enough time to swim, snorkel, or simply soak up the sun.

BRAČ

A sliver of an island 24 miles long and 7.5 miles wide, Brač is famous for its unique Zlatni Rat beach and white stone that was used to build many well-known world structures, including the White House in Washington.

Mountain bike to Supetar and visit an olive oil museum along the way. The 31-mile/ 50 km bike ride starts as a challenging uphill but soon turns into nice, rocky singletrack.

If you want to go vertical, hike Vidova Gora (2,550 ft/778 m), the highest peak on the island. Trails let you explore hidden turnouts and encounter wildlife as you hike downhill to the small town of Postire.

Your guides

Kristijan Grubišić, aka Gruba, is a proud member of the Velebit Mountaineering Society and a co-founder of Nomadi Agency. He spends most of his time on rocks, rivers, sailboats, and bikes—both in Croatia and around the globe. He has traveled the world on budget, climbed the Himalayas, hitchhiked from Iran to Croatia, explored the Siberia, Australian bush, and the famous Sahara desert. Still, his biggest love remains none other than Velebit.

Ivo Jarić has been an MTB guide since 2016. Although he was born in the continental city of Zagreb, Ivo has a special bond with the Adriatic coast. He enjoys sharing his love for these slivers, slips, cliffside monoliths and white-pebble blips with anyone who’s interested. When he’s not shredding singletrack, he spends most of his time traveling with his mountain-biking wife and trying out artisanal beers in local taverns.
