Deposits

When booking a trip, you can either pay for it in full or reserve your spot with a 30% deposit. The remaining 70% of the trip price is to be paid 90 days prior to departure, at the latest.

Cancellations

After 48 hours, booking fees are non-refundable in all cases. You can choose one of 57hours’ flexibility options:

  • If canceled 90 or more days before departure, a 70% refund of the total trip price will be issued.
  • If canceled within 89 days of departure, no refund will be issued.
  • Booking fees are non-refundable after a 48-hour grace period.

  • If canceled within 48 hours of booking, a full refund will be issued.
  • If canceled 90 or more days before departure, a full refund of the total trip price will be issued.
  • If canceled 60-89 days before departure, a 50% refund of the total trip price will be issued.

From Portugal’s storybook villages to Spain’s lush Galician landscapes, every step is packed with history, scenery, and moments that’ll stick with us long after the journey ends. And when we finally reach Santiago de Compostela? That’s when it all clicks. We’re not just finishing a hike—we’re stepping into something bigger. Ready to walk the path of legends?

    • On Day 1, you will arrive in Ponte de Lima. The day is reserved for getting settled in the hotel and having a good night’s sleep for the hiking days ahead. Tomorrow is the start of the first stage on the Camino soft way hike.

    • Today’s hike is renowned for its natural beauty and challenging terrain. We’ll begin by crossing the medieval bridge in Ponte de Lima, then traversing cobblestone streets, rural farmlands, and dense forests. A significant feature of this stage is the ascent to Alto da Portela Grande de Labruja, the highest point on the Portuguese Camino. This climb, though
      demanding, rewards travelers with stunning views and a sense of accomplishment. The path includes ancient Roman roads and stone paths, adding historical depth to the journey.

      Hiking: 18 km (11.1 mi)

    • Today, we’re going on a relatively moderate segment of the journey. We’ll leave Rubiães and continue through scenic rural landscapes, including forests and farmland, providing a peaceful experience. Along the route, we’ll pass through small villages like Vilarinho, where the traditional Portuguese architecture is on display. The path includes some ascents and descents, but the terrain is mostly manageable.

      As we approach Valença, the landscape becomes more urban, and the sight of the impressive Valença Fortress, which overlooks the river, marks the end of this stage.

    • Today’s walk crosses the border into Spain. We’ll leave the historical town of Valença, crossing the impressive international bridge over the River Minho, which marks the border between Portugal and Spain. The path follows rural roads, forest trails, and small villages, offering a peaceful and scenic journey. We’ll walk through the town of Tui, known for its cathedral and medieval charm, before continuing toward Porriño.

      The final stretch includes some gentle climbs and descents, with the landscape transitioning to more urban surroundings. Upon reaching Porriño, we’ll find a welcoming environment with various services, making it a good place to rest and recover before the next stage.

      Valenca in Portugal
    • On Day 5, we’ll experience a mix of beautiful nature and historical sites. We’ll begin by leaving Porriño, walking through the peaceful countryside, and passing through charming villages such as Mos. The route features some gentle ascents and descents, with scenic views of lush forests and rolling hills. Along the way, we may encounter traditional stone paths, typical of the Camino. As the journey progresses, the path begins to descend toward the coastal area near Redondela, offering glimpses of the Ría de Vigo.

      Upon reaching Redondela, we are greeted by a town known for its picturesque setting and its medieval Romanesque bridge. This stage is a relatively easy and enjoyable walk, making it a popular choice for those looking for a more relaxed day on the Camino.

    • Today, we’ll walk through peaceful forests and small villages, with some gentle hills along the way. The route passes through traditional Galician towns like O Porriño and Cabeça de Man. As we approach Pontevedra, the path becomes more urban, leading us to the town’s charming medieval center. Pontevedra is famous for its historic architecture, including the Church of the Pilgrim Virgin.

    • On Day 7, we’ll leave Pontevedra and walk through lush countryside, passing small villages and peaceful forests. The route includes some gentle climbs and descents, offering scenic views of the Galician landscape. Along the way, we’ll pass the beautiful Church of Santa Maria de Alba. As we approach Caldas de Rei, the path leads to a relaxing environment, known for its thermal springs. Caldas de Rei is a great place to rest and enjoy the natural hot springs after a day’s walk.

    • We’ll leave Caldas de Rei and walk through wooded paths, rural landscapes, and small villages. The route includes some gentle ascents and descents, with beautiful views of the
      Galician countryside. Along the way, we’ll pass the Church of Santa María de Brea and the famous “Cruceiro de Santa Marina.” As we approach Padrón, the path leads to a historic town known for its association with Saint James and the legendary “Pedrón” stone. Padrón is a great place to rest, with its beautiful church and peaceful atmosphere.

    • Today, we’ll leave Padrón and walk through rural paths and small villages. The route includes some gentle ascents, with the final stretch leading into the outskirts of Santiago. As we approach the city, we’ll be greeted by beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. The journey culminates at the magnificent Santiago de Compostela Cathedral, the ultimate destination for pilgrims on the Camino.

    • This is the last day of the Camino soft way hiking adventure. We’ll say our goodbyes and depart back home, filled with memories that we’ll cherish forever.

    • This hiking Camino soft way adventure is rated moderate, which means that a good fitness level is required to participate. The adventure features some challenging climbs like the Serra da Labruja, balanced by peaceful stretches alongside rivers and medieval churches.

    • Here’s a list of the equipment you need to bring:

        • Day pack large enough to carry everything you might need throughout the day (around a 25-40L bag)
        • Hiking poles — optional

      Dress comfortably and for the weather in clothes you can move in. We suggest bringing clothing appropriate for the season. Layers are best and don’t wear jeans.

    • Group sizes and pricing

        • For this hiking Camino soft way adventure, the usual client-to-guide ratio is 6:1.
        • It takes a minimum of 6 people for this tour to operate. The maximum group size is set at 18 participants.

      Min. age requirements

        • If you are older than 18, you’re good to go.
        • Minors older than 12 may be permitted to join the hiking Camino soft way adventure on a case-by-case basis, but must be in the presence of a parent or legal guardian.

      If your group has participants under the age of 18, contact us prior to booking to make arrangements.

    • The starting point of your hiking Camino soft way is Ponte de Lima, Portugal. To get there, most people fly into Vigo Airport (VGO). From there, you can take a shuttle service, public transport, or rent a car to reach Ponte de Lima.

      Once you’re there, you will meet your guide at a predetermined time in a predetermined place. Your guide will provide more details before the adventure begins.
